Allegri really flubbed this up today.

- I can understand starting Rino for old times sake. But if he starts again for us after today, it will be a bone to pick with Allegri.

- Failing to bring on Boateng in this match was IMO pretty unforgivable. How Allegri thought our midfield was fine, kept it unchanged, and then proceeded to FURTHER imbalance the side by reducing it to two was ludicrous.

- Pirlo looked awful. Either give him another creative mid, or don't play him. But don't do this 2DM + Pirlo shi*t anymore. I can't stand watching Rino and Ambro trying to play technical football with Ibra, while Ronaldinho and Pato are isolated on the wings, and Pirlo does nothing but play unlikely chips or try his dribble/turn/slip nonsense.

Even Abbiati looked out of sorts and did NOT inspire any confidence in me.

Our tactical set-up was shameful today, and we didn't deserve to win at all. Just result.

With that said, the linesmen made some shameful decisions today. Pato netted but was called offside TWICE when he wasn't, Ibra netted but called offside, Inzaghi was called offside when he wasn't. Something was horribly wrong with the linesmen.

Next match I want to see Ambro stay out of the final third unless its on a set piece or a charging header. I want to see Boateng go box to box, Dinho and Robinho given free roaming playmaking roles, and Ibra and Pato up front together. I was so sick of seeing Pirlo and Rino play today, I want both of them to sit and watch next match.

Bonera can play as long as we have one of Boateng or Seedorf in. But if its Rino/Ambro, then Abate (out of default) must play.

Allegri: Grade F.

That sounds about right.

Sooooo...

Who still wants to see all 4 (Ibra/din/bin/pat) play at the same time? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Truer words have never been said, vnata. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/king.gif) Great post as always! And from now on I don't think half measures will cut it anymore. We take up Catania next week, and they are Serie A regulars. Gonna have to be real careful from now on - I saw literally no control in the midfield today, which put pressure on the defense, and took the air out of the attack (not that those two departments did anything to write home about anyway).

And as many words of wisdom Allegri said in that article above (I agree with all of what he says), there still should be a sentence on two on his performance as well. A little less 'we', and a word or two 'me' should be the order of the day. Blaming almost everything on the team, which there are glaring loopholes in the tactical strategy is no where near the right thing to do. Fillipo said it a few pages back, and vnata said it above.

What if all linesmen's decisions would have been in favour of us...
would we critisize even though we would have won?

unfortunately I couldn't watch the game because I was working...
I dread the highlights.

Everybody seems intent on slagging Ibra, but what about Robinho? What exactly did he do to escape criticism? At least Ibra managed to create a couple of chances, Robinho did **** all during his (limited) time on the pitch.

Still, lots of credit has to go to Cesena. That's 2 games played, 4 points won and 0 goals conceded so far, and considering who they've been playing, that's pretty amazing. Looking forward to see wether they can pull something special off this season.

Just found out that their keeper, Antonioli, turns 41 next week. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) And his performance today was miles better than Abbiati. I don't know about you guys but after his villainous horror display in the 2nd round game against Palermo last season, he had no stakes at claiming the first XI spot. We should have started the season with Amelia.

Even the two goals today could (and should) have been saved by any half decent keeper. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif) He almost got his hands (or should I say finger tips) to it both times. And the general aura about him wasn't too bright either, gave away a couple of needless corners as well towards the end of the match. I'd have to be forced very hard to give him a higher rating than 4. He was not at fault for the two goals, but Abbiati didn't do what he was called on to do as well. Why did Storari had to leave?!!

Abbiati?! Abbiati was probably the less faulty of our whole team. He couldn't do much on either goal, stop saying nonsense acid.

Actually I agree with Acid here. Those goals were good, but not unstoppable. I think Amelia got a little closer to the starting spot today.

I'm immature because I'm not riding the Ibra gravy train, then acid is talking nonsense because he gives his opinion about or GK situation.

Methinks you really need to lay off a little, X.

I thought Ibra and Pato were our best players.

Genuinely tried to cover a lot of the holes left by our invisible midfield,I don't know how many balls Ibra + Pato collected from deep and tried to create something...anything...what were people expecting?Granted they lost the ball quite fair few times too, credit to Cesena they knew exactly how to stop us.

Pato + Ibra could be a very dynamic duo, give them time to gel.

In all honesty we need to lose the 433,i just can't bear the sight of our midfield (once best in europe) getting battered whenever we played a team who presses properly, but it's too bad we bought players for that system already lol..
