To play with all four means you have to field two defensive midfielders that mostly defend. That will leave Pirlo out and thatt's why we won't play like that. Maybe only when we are down in the second half.

1. Really? Robinho over Messi? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) And there have been Brazilians in the past who have failed in Serie A. Robinho is obviously a great player who had a great season in the EPL which is where Brazilians usually struggle, so I'm not really that worried about him flopping, but you can never be sure...

2. Ibra has a reputation of underperforming in the CL. Not in the big league games, last season he scored against Real, h always used to do the job in the derbies for Inter and against the other big teams. For league play Ibra imo is a 100% certain success. He won Inter the league twice nearly all on his own. Their tactics before he left, especially under Mancini was punt the ball up to Ibra and he'll do the job.


That only means that he's an over paid egomaniac...

He sat on the bench for a reason during his second season, not because he's not a good enough player, but because of the behind the scenes issues he was having with his coaches.


That would get ripped apart!!

The laziest front line in football by far! No one to track back the midfield would be under immense pressure. Also it would mean having to drop Pirlo to play the 2 pure DMs and if you have seen Pirlo playing in the last 3 weeks the last thing you'd want to do is to drop him


If he performs well for Milan I'm sure no one would forget him, no matter how much cr@p he talks to the press

Also I think all of you won't admit that I'm right is because you're fans of his. People who aren't biased would agree with me. Robinho is a great player but can be a downright $£^%£&£$% if he's not getting his way.

Ask the City fans how they feel about him, I'm sure they have a lot of colorful adjectives to describe him (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Sorry to point score, but tonight's display is why I didn't jump on your and others' Ibra bandwagon.

That said Robinho didn't really get into the game much either.

Um, fair enough, but let's not get to far ahead of ourselves. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) The party's just started, the players haven't nearly had any respectable amount of time to gel together, and understand each other. Let's take the middle road for the time being, and convene here in January 2011.

Well a sure thing is a sure thing, including the debut. And on his debut he was poor. The only sure thing about Ibra is he's inconsistent. Can be as awful as he can brilliant.

True, but judging the squad/management after a game or two will just keep us running around in circles. We won't get anywhere. Things like Allegri is the best thing since sliced bread after our 4-0 win, or a particular player is a garbage can after our second match sure seem dramatic, but they are awfully far from the truth. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Now if performance like this continues (hopefully not) for a month of two straight on, they I too will have second thoughts.

However I do completely agree with your comment that Ibra is quite inconsistent. Always has been like this!

I don't understand how Ibra was bad?

With ronaldinho being closed down quickly and pirlo doing long balls,plus all the different catastrophes going on all around him basically had no service apart from a few link ups with pato.

He saw holes in the midfield and tried to fill them by dropping deep and worked hard,i thought he and pato were our best players easily.

It might be time to give that thrice damned X-Mas tree a look in. Ibra and Ronnie need to drop back, with Pato at the head of the trident.

I'm not Ibra fanboy, in fact I barely even wanted him at Milan, but no one can deny that at league play he's a sure thing. Obviosuly there will be games he won't score in (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Robinho nearly had an entire half to play, all I saw him doing was running into brick walls...

Both need time to adjust. Even though everyone (including th players) seemed to have the idea in their head that they would come on yesterday and score 3 goals each (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) They're both going to need time to integrate themselves into the team, learn how the others on the team move, etc

yea ibra wasn't even that bad this past game. should've hit his penalty. But if he had just sat up front statically, not dropped for the ball, and just isolate himself and let the midfield struggle, im sure plenty here would have bemoaned his laziness. With a player like Ibra, no matter what he wont be able to do right by some people.

I didnt want him here (at the expense of Edin), but it's no fair to say he played badly. The real problems were certainly not him.

in fact, like Jack's just suggested, Ibra in a "forlan for uruguay"-like role could possibly be his best fit.
