QUOTE (Zed.D @ Aug 30 2010, 01:53 AM) Well, I always say this: Messi plays for Barca and in La Liga. a whole different story! I consider Serie A to be tougher for attackers than La Liga. besides we saw how Messi fared in the World Cup when he faced some serious defending. not taking anything away from the kid as he's one of the best (after the World Cup, I just can't think of him as the absolute best anymore) players in the world. I'm with you brother. He's the most overrated thing since fruitcakes. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Give me a call when he scores 4-0 against a tactically solid and defensively solid side. Until then he can keep banging in these bundles of goals against charity teams. QUOTE (Zed.D @ Aug 30 2010, 01:53 AM) As for Ronaldo, IMO he's prolly the greatest striker to ever play the game. nuff said Thank you! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) Pardon me, but I always get sentimental when it comes to the Fabulous Five (Maldini, Ronaldo, Baggio, Rui Costa, and Dida). QUOTE (Danny @ Aug 30 2010, 02:01 AM) Messi is the most overated player on earth. Does it in the sieve like defences of La Liga, supported by the brilliance of Iniesta and Xavi, but struggles even in the CL and for my money has only lived up to his reputation once and that was his decimation of a weak Arsenal defence.
At the world cup we saw how 'good' he truly is. He's great, world class, but absolutely nothing more and I wouldn't have him in my top 5 players on earth. Count me in your camp, mate. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif) He's good, he's great, okay even world class, but ever since people (and Goal.com in particular) started rating him the best of all time, I've almost started dreading the guys name. I seriously hope he gets to play in EPL or the German and Italian league, and then we'll see the true worth of this guy. He was marked out of the game by Cambiasso in the CL this year, and hopelessly at that. Like totally. I'll put him in my dream team, though. As a sub.

QUOTE (elcordobez @ Aug 30 2010, 02:08 AM) Yeh i really like him made really good comments,i didn't know it was him till later on. Well he was a color character, I'll give him that. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) This is turning out to be a great season already, ha! QUOTE (Fishdoll @ Aug 30 2010, 02:13 AM) I think perhaps that an hour of listening nonstop to Max Bretos will do for you, Zeddie. Make that Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound, please. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) With lights turned off.

QUOTE (elcordobez @ Aug 30 2010, 02:22 AM) LOL i love how after when he praises an Italian player like Pippo or Gattuso he goes "yeh i played with him" (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Yup, true. And considering this was his first day at the job, I wonder what's in store for us for the remaining 37 matches. And the other guy kept asking him how he would have liked to have played alongside Ronaldinho and Ibra. LOL. QUOTE (MizNelson @ Aug 30 2010, 02:26 AM) I'm sorry, but the new Serie A logo is way too reminiscent of Quizno's. There is a striking resemblence, I agree. But it's an improvement nonetheless than the plain blue one that was the old Serie A logo. And besides it's looks good on TV in 3D. I don't know but I like the La Liga logo the best, it's got everything going for it. QUOTE (MizNelson @ Aug 30 2010, 02:26 AM) Hm, didn't know Max Bretos left FSC. The one guy I liked over there was Christian Miles. Is he still with them? Yeah, he left and joined ESPN (are they this stupid?). (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Miles is one of the good (and old) ones, and he was still there up till the 2009 season, don't know his current status, though. I dread watching FSC, not just for their crappy coverage, but oodles and oodles of repeat (and cheap) ads.

QUOTE (MizNelson @ Aug 30 2010, 02:41 AM) Ah, I was initially thinking of the Lega Calcio logo with the red and green in it. That's a heck of a difference between the Serie A logo and the old one. Yup, the old looked it was plugged straight from the 1990s. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) This is the one I'm talking about, the new and the old. The new one looks pure Italian bred, and I can stick with this one. Hopefully they can improve their cameras next, so they get closer to the EPL broadcast quality. The logos: (IMG: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f6/LegaSerieAlogo.jpg) (IMG: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/4e/SerieAlogo20092010.jpg) QUOTE (MizNelson @ Aug 30 2010, 02:41 AM) Nobody cornered the market on scam advertising like FSC. That's what I DON'T miss about not having access to the channel anymore. Agreed. Some of their ads were plain dreadful, like they were shot on a $1,000 budget. And some were plain annoying. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/puke.gif) Most were loud and in your face. As if their commentary and coverage wasn't bad enough, with mixed up names and whatnot. Max Burrito (I know wrong spelling) even went as far to say Alessandro Costacurta was Paolo Maldini!!! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) On live TV. Blasphemy, if you ask me, and that too from someone who is getting paid to comment on Serie A matches. Thanks God it's out of my life.
