Thanks ..... in some places any dissent over the great Ibra is not tolerated (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) So it wasn't cool to pay 15 M for Cissokho (oh lookie a left back....wonder when we'll get one of those ) It wasn't cool to pay 17 M for Fabiano (buy heyyyy k .hunt was a steal of a deal huh ) OMG Dzeko at 30 M was a ripoffffff But 40 M for the Bartha REJECT is awesome...never mind the "youth policy" *cough*cough*Yepezzzzzzzzzzzzz" "omg we're trying to be financially self sustainable" "that EVIL Ronaldinho won't HALD his f**king Salary so I could buy Napoleon's toothbrush (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cry.gif) I don't want to but I might have to sell you (IMG: style_emoticons/default/hemademe.gif) " "Wow how 'bout those evil Real Madrid and Manure City huh...spendin a heap on unnecessary players....At lease they buy players they need as well...we have a fetish for 'champions' " "We were becoming a 1 man team with Kaka but let's get Ibra to do everything (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) " When would Berlu learn that this retarded incarnation of Perez's "Zidanes and Pavones" attack-lopsided publicity heavy philosophy brings meager FOOTBALLING rewards?? Let's continue to contradict ourselves as per usual because consistency is boring (IMG: http://www.milanfan.com/forums/style_images/bullet/folder_post_icons/icon8.gif)

Allegri confirms Ibra chatMilan boss Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed reports he had a chat with Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic last night. The Swede is expected to reveal this evening whether he intends to move back to Italy after Milan apparently agreed a deal to sign him for €40m. Speaking to Sky Italia, Allegri said: “I had an informal telephone chat with Ibrahimovic. “He said he would be happy to join us. We'll see what happens. “I am naturally confident. He is an important player and would complete an already strong line up. He would give us a jump in class. “The more champions the easier it is to win games. There is a need to have a 22-man squad to realise important objectives. “We wouldn't change our style of play. We would have been the anti-Inter already without him. With Zlatan we get centimeters, technique and goals,” Allegri concluded. It remains to be seen whether the former Interista becomes the fifth player since 1990 to cross the divide. Link

QUOTE (servbot @ Aug 27 2010, 04:47 PM) At the basic level it seems like this will be a good deal financially and tactically to me. But I'm a noob.
I'm curious to see who magically changes their mind (assuming the deal goes) when Ibra scores goals against Inter, or Madrid, etc.
I remember a similar, but even more heated scenario when Dennis Rodman signed with the Bulls, a guy who was not only the worst character person in the NBA, but a guy who had been a key part of a dirty, physical rivalry with the Pistons. A lot of people thought he would destroy the team, but then they go on and win 72 games while Rodman dominated the boards, on post defense, and in hair salons, and everyone (including me) loves him even to this day, despite the fact that he was still a terrible person, got suspended dozens of times, etc, during his stay on the Bulls. I think most of people's problems with the deal aside from Ibra's rotten atitude, is the financial ripple effect this will cause for the club, forget about the transfer fee which Silvio is funding. No other player (not Pirlo, Dinho or Nesta) earn the wage Ibra will be getting, Kaka earned that wage and part of the excuse for selling him was to remove that kind of wage bill off our shoulders, now we're willingly going to give that to Zlatan? His transfer will put us in an even worse position then we already are in and will effect us for god knows how long. Next summer we'll need a new RB for sure and a couple more mids, that's a certainty, how are we going to pay for those when we're coughing up to 8m per season to Ibra?

Easy we won't ...we'll just get an orphanage full of 10 year olds $5 "highly rated" kids from who would be ready in the next 8 years and are 'definitely the ones to watch for the future'....Galliani spews his 're-building for the future' and longterm investments' bullshit while the fans, having personally contributed to Pippo's hip replacement surgery would applaud at the sight of anything younger than Galliani himself ...Zidanes and Pavones all over again (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Of course if you think Any of Abate, Oddo, Zambro and Janku have any use whatsoever then you are cordially invited to ignore the above

With all due respect han, I think the lack of information regarding this deal should not allow us to go around guessing gloom and doom. For starters, we don't know the details of the deal - whether Silvio is pitching in or not, or whether the 3 year installment would be stretched later on for a further 3 years. We also don't know what side deals are on the table, etc. If Ibra is not what we need and instead we need more fullbacks and midfielders? Allegri might not need fullbacks nor more midfielders if he intends on playing the 4-3-3. Or is he opted for a change of formation, he has the luxury of having Zambro, Antonini, Oddo, and Janku. All in all, we should all just look on the bright side of things .. Because, looking at the club's fiscal data, you could clearly see that we are strapped in debt and to an extent 'broke'.

As far as him making more than others, while it is true, he is allegedly taking a huge pay cut to come here, so he is doing exactly what they are asking the other top players to do. Milan can't be held responsible by the other players for already having had such a huge salary before he came here. I don't know most of the salaries, but from what several of you have discussed in the past, jettisoning Oddo, Janku, Kaladze, Hunter....would more than cover Zlatan's 8m after this season. If the info I'm understanding is correct, the math works and doesn't put us in any worse shape than we are in now. Again, this is assuming we dump the old salaries and not sign more extensions.

QUOTE (Tennie @ Aug 27 2010, 05:39 PM) Source for that? milannews.it/tuttomercatoweb/football-italia ... Even Galliani in acmilan.com said that they are negotiating for Hunter. ----- 18:35 - Sandro Rosell, president of Barcelona, currently in Ibiza, would return to earth in Catalan with his private plane, informed agreement reached between AC Milan and Ibrahimovic. The final closure could come in the evening. 18:28 - Spanish television on all the media are circulating pictures of the morning workout Barcelona which was also attended by Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Swedish, based on what you can see from the pictures, appeared relaxed and joked motlo behind Guardiola and touched her private parts to the passage of the Barça coach, as if to say that Guardiola is bad luck. Clear signs of how the Swede has nothing to do with the Blaugrana. Ibra is increasingly Rossoneri.

QUOTE (drucurl @ Aug 27 2010, 04:23 PM) Seriously...will ya marry me...I'll fly up to Cali tomorrow got my US visa and everything (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) I am saddened by the way our club is run. Yes Ibra is a great champ. He has his flaws like being slow and a bit of a bottler but he's a guaranteed hit in Italy. However on a human level he's scum and not only because of his arrogance which I could deal with but also he's a NASTY PERSON. He has injured his former team mates intentionally (he studied tae-kwon-do and uses his skills in football to hit the ball at unique angles but sometimes also to kick opponents). You can google the article where Van Der Vaart blasted him for this. The other thing is he's already played for Juve, Bartha, and Printer. Each time he's pretended that he has some sort of special devotion to them. Playing for Rivals in itself doesn't bother me after all my hero Ronaldo played for the two biggest city rivals in Europe on both sides (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) But I have a problem with all the claims of being a childhood fan and the badge kissing etc. There is also a football element in that what the TEAM currently needs may and I say may because I could be wrong totally as well. We need a LEFT BACK ffs We haven't had a proper one to work continuously and consistently for over 4 years (IMG: style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) We need a CLASSICAL and CLINICAL (which Ibra totally isn't) CF. Ibra is good and outrageously skilled but just like Ronaldinho, Seedorf AND Pirlo- needs time on the ball. Some people are of the utterly misguided opinion that we could just lob balls forward and he'll latch on to them beat 4+ defenders and score because they believe that Ibra singlehandedly won it for printer. This is a gross oversimplification and is closer to a lie if anything. The Ibra frenzy has reached a fever pitch where Hunt and Flams would be gladly sacrificed at his altar. Call me stupid but a midifield of Ambro-Pirlo/Dorf-Boateng is STILL too lightweight.... But that's ok since the messiah Zlatan I'mahomobitch can walk on any SerieA water Lastly there is the financial element... - He's going to be 30 in two years and there's no telling how his form would be then
- MASSIVE WAGES IN AN ALLEGEDLY BROKE ORGANIZATION. THE RIPPLE EFFECT OF HIS WAGES AS THE OTHER (BETTER) WOULD NOW DEMAND AN INCREASE
- This smells of a Pato sale (you , know to cover those huuuugge wages..but it's ok cause he's injury prone (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) )
- no investments due to the $plashing all our financial eggs in one mercenary basket (what? Y'all ungrateful? WE GOT (IMG:style_emoticons/default/king.gif) ZLATAN)
- Repeat retarded cycle above
I don't know but losing the PERSONALITIES of good men like Paolo, Carlo and Kaka is taking it's toll on me IMO that is the best post I have read so far in this section and I couldn't agree more if I tried (IMG: style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Like you said we're in terrible financial state, have areas of the team that still need to be taken care of yet we're going to throw all that money at Zlatan, to me this is not a wise move. Oddo and Janku have been pretty much banished, Allegri has made his intentions pretty clear and the only reason these players are still with us is because they won't leave. I understand where you're coming from, but I can't help but worry of the repurcussions that we might face if this thing goes through for the ammount of money being mentioned. You yourself are saying that we're broke and you have great facts to back that up, so why go spending that kind of money on one player who is 29 years old and imo will not even repay us half of what we're about to spend on him
