It sounds like its a loan to buy... and if we like him he will cost us a decent amount next summer. Genoa explained the deal by saying they hoped to make a profit on him.

He cost Genoa about 7m right? So, I'm guessing if he has an average season, we'll have to take him for about 10m. Our relationship with Genoa could go down the tubes quick if we don't buy him outright.

I don't see us buying Boateng after an average season.

You do realize Genoa did this as a favor? It would be incredibly rude and horribly poor business if we did not purchase him after at least an average season.

Genoa does this to earn money in a year time. If we would buy him even after an average season, why didn't we buy him right away then?

Perhaps because we have a bajillion people on their last year of a contract. Genoa isn't really guaranteed that profit at all. They are taking a risk, and we are the ones in control of whether or not that risk is a positive one. We will purchase him if he has an average season. Guarantee it. The only way I see us not buying him is if he rides the bench all season or if he has a horribly attitude and disrupts the locker room. My bet would be the latter if that came to be.

According to Braida, the Ibrahimovic transfer is possible. Difficult but possible.

Even though he's far from being my favorite player, he can make us a much better team and his potential partnership with Pato and maybe the in shape Ronaldinho, pretty intriguing.

Its not money thats being discussed here. Theres more to it then that.



Genoa currently half own 3 of our brightest young prospects. Thats whats at stake here.


We were interested in sokratis but his price would have been overinflated had we gone in with cash straight up. But genoa were willing to give us a major deal at the price of youth. Their president is very smart and always thinks long term.

Inter wanted to sign ranocchia on co-own but they had to end up giving their brightest young striker to genoa in exchange.


Genoa currently have Zigoni in their possession, who is regarded as one of the best young forewards in Italy and europe.

I garuantee you that the boateng deal was in exchange for the full rights of Zigoni and cash.

Thats why they bought him for us because currently our money is saved for the ibra deal as it seems like.

I can also see us giving oudamadi or strasser + cash for bocchetti next season after kaladze/janku/inzaghi are gone.

We will continue dealing with them because it benefits us and it benefits them. They don't really want money and we don't really have a lot money. But what we do have is great youth products in the making and they are highly interested in youth.



Therefore, we'll continue dealing with them more and more.

It seems our club has finally realised that if we purchase youth early on for cheap; we can benefit from in a number of ways.


Whether it adds benefit to the first team or we sell them later on for profit or use them in such deals as above; the overall is positive and there isn't much to lose.


Its better than splashing 15m on a known player like huntelaar and him flopping and refusing to leave. We've wasted our money too much like this:

Doign this method won't ensure us being the best in the world. Thats a given. But what it will do for us is give us the oppurtunity to keep the club out of debt and healthy in the long term.

Excellent news! I think everyone had a feeling from day 1 that this would probably be our summer transfer after we agreed to play the joan gamper trophy.




I just hope we sign him on loan with an option to buy just in case.

Despite the fact I hate Ibra and his stinky, mercenary attitude with a passion, as thing stand right now, with Dzeko out of the picture, I guess it'd be pretentious of us saying no to him. Plus, I can't say a Dinho-Ibra-Pato partnership doesn't intrigue me.

You were there when they negotiated? I doubt this to be true, mainly because a) Zigoni could flop no problem b ) Boateng could flop, no problem c) They could have done that transfer this year d) With the loss of a number of players due to contracts ending, we could easily purchase Boateng for 10m if we deem him worthy e)Zigoni could absolutely kill it and we bring him back.

Unless he completely bombs, we'll probably grab him for 8-10m in a years time. Depending on Zigoni/Strasser/Oduamandi's performances they could be put into the deal but a guarantee is a bit of a stretch.

Coming to think of it, Genoa are really giving us a helpful hand. Of course they will be compensated one way or the other, but its better than going to Volkswagon & Co. and them holding us ransom for the services of their prospects; that might or might not shine.

We have established good fundamental base of a youth academy, some of which can preform at par in Serie A (I see no reason why they can't). Yet, as a club, we aspire for major honors at the same time, so there wont be much room for these prospects ... Sell them to Genoa, Parma, & co. in a few years time, Milan would need to add more HG players to its roaster to compete in the CL .. buy them back, and the wheel keeps turning.


I could be all wrong, but Bluesummers raises a good point in us having alternative means to negotiating ... saves us the heart ache of seeing Porsmouth slap a Eur 30MM price tag on his forehead at least (IMG:style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif)

Please, how many times have we seen this movie over the years?

Yeah, he would really open things up and it would seriously help Pato and perhaps even energize Ronaldinho.
