QUOTE (d'Arc.LP @ Jul 6 2010, 09:51 PM) *
Nothing new about Krasic ?
I think he will not sign new contract with CSKA so in the winter we can sign him for free.

btw, Next season Gattuso, Flamini and Ambrosini will have to fight for one place (well Gattuso can leave Milan). Ambrosini was very good last season but he's just too old now. Gattuso last season was, hmmmm, or let's just say he wasn't, and Flamini didn't get too much time. I think that Allegri will and should choose Flamini becouse : he is younger, faster, can attack and very consistent.

He's just too old now? Is that the best you can think of? Mister who is too old pwns Flamini fyi. Zanetti is way older. Should he have been benched this season also?

Very consistent in making wrong tackles? Very consistent in getting red cards? Ambrosini is more reliable than Flamini. Ambrosini tackling is better, better mentality, smarter / more intelligent, better header / is stronger. Flamini is indeed faster and can attack better. So IMO Ambrosini is the better DM of the two.

Are we still talking about Krasic? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

Why does youth to do with anything?? I don't get it. IMO Ambrosini was consistent enough to say he's overall our best player in the last 2-3 years. If he maintains that kind of form he can play until 85. There's no need to give younger players the advantage unless they are better.

Have you watched Ambrosini in our last 10 games last season ? He was very tired and couldn't make more than 60 minutes. Instead of that I saw a very good prepared Flamini for ex. agains Roma was very good and I can also remember Ambrosini's game agains Real Madrid. Both of them are very good. It depends on coach's tacticts but if we will play Allegri's 4-3-1-2 I'm not sure he will pick Ambro before Flamini. If we can buy a good DM than Ambro's on the bench , if not than he will play in midfield with Pirlo and Flamini.

I'm not underestimating Ambrosini, I really like him but we can't hang on players that can leave us in the middle of the road. I'm saying again that it will depend on Allegri's tactics 'cos they have different attributes. So don't missunderstand me I'm not being Flamini's fan here or Ambro's hater.

He was very tired because Leo never gave him ANY rest, while barely using Flamini. If Ambrosini doesn't have to play 90 minutes every match, then he might be not so tired. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Of course Flamini should play more often... but in most games, surely the big games, Ambrosini must start over Flamini as our DM.

In the big game, are you sure Ambrosini can run after players like Ozil and Messi ... can we trust him ?
I know he can do great against players like Gerrard, Lampard, but when it comes to the fast ones, I'm really in doubt he could do better than Flamini.

YES, we can trust Ambrosini. He was immense against top teams like Real Madrid. Man, he will step up a lot in those matches. And he won't screw up, good mentality and his tackling et cetera are good against those teams. While Flamini is not as reliable and might make a wrong tackle.

From our midfielders I trust Ambrosini by far the most, surely in the big games.

edit: Ambrosini can handle the pressure so well, while I'm not so sure about Flamini

What makes you so sure Flamini would do better? Just that he's younger, meaning he's faster? Sissoko is also faster maybe, is he better?

No it doesn't mean you are faster if you're younger, but that's how it is, Flamini is faster than Ambrosini and in a lot of games speed is very important for a Midfielder, esp. when the opposite team is on counter attack.

And might I add..... it's not all about being the fastest.... more important is anticipation (also position and concentration)

Yes of course

Maybe we've started the discussion on the wrong topic.

Ambrosini >>>>>>>>>>>> Flamini

Leo's mistake last season was playing the same line-up every single game. Then again, he didn't really have much to chose from, but he could have used Flamini a little more and give Ambro some breathing space. Also, it's true Ambro went downhill in the last couple of months, but so did the whole team.

Ambrosini is the starter for sure, but Flamini should be given more opportunity to prove himself. If not just to give Ambro more rest.
