QUOTE (X-Offender @ Jun 17 2010, 11:45 PM) Maybe we could use Amelia in the deal for Marchetti. Seems to complicated anyway. Why not use Storari to get Marchetti? Anway, Amelia is 28, Storari 33 - and both would eventually be reserves.

QUOTE (CHU-LIP @ Jun 18 2010, 12:16 AM) Why would Storari be a reserve? Because he played a better season than Abbiati? Oh, that makes sense. Because Storari is 33 years old and yes he had a good season, but Abbiati is Milans no. 1; IMO both had good seasons, only differnece is Abbiati has more experience and more good matches in his legs.

Actually, Abbiati barely played a few games this season (although he did good enough in them), so you can't really compare their seasons. But I agree, if I'd choose between Storari and Abbiati, I'd choose the latter.

That is NOT the only difference. There is another difference, namely that Storari out shined Abbiati with ease this season. Storari possible best Serie A goalkeeper of the season, Storari was this season an option for Azzurri squad (before AND after his injury, at Milan AND at Sampdoria). Abbiati not even close to any of these...

I mean, if you judge the matter based on just one season Matri is better then Pato because he scored more while the letter was recouperating.

I mean, if you judge the matter based on just one season Matri is better then Pato because he scored more while the letter was recouperating. Abbiati played games and he made mistakes, Storari was obviously better. While Pato showed when fit he can score goals better (not as in that someone scored more in a season, I'm not talking about silly stats here, I'm talking about preforming) than any of our other forwards + Matri. Storari's hell of a season gets no reward it looks like (so sick and undeserved). If Storari really gets benched, then sell him FFS and sign D.Alves or Marchetti.

Anyway, question stays: should we base everything on just one season in which Abbati did not have many chances to play?

Yes, if it's the last season then it's a yes, at this moment there is no reason not to start Storari. Good possibility he will continue doing what he did this season and then it's an obviously good choice to start him. If he suddenly drops form? Okay, THEN you can replace him for Abbiati, but at this moment there is no reason not to start him. Storari showed form for (almost) a whole season and Abbiati didn't. Would you suddenly bench someone when he's in form?
