QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Jun 13 2010, 08:14 PM) It's not true either. Messi bearly played in his first season seeing as he was new to the first team. He played quite a bit in his 2nd season, though he was more of a sub. Since then he's played almost every game. In his first few seasons he did get injured a lot, I think he had a gowth problem, that's why he always says he'll always be thankful to Barca for sticking with him. The day Pato is sold will only be for money just like Kaka was sold. And really we shouldn't be wishing for it as I can't see us spending money to get someone that can come close to him. He had an injury plagued season, every player goes through that at one point or another, at one point Ambro was compared to glass as he used to spend entire months out with injuries. I'm sure you wouldn't have wanted to see him being sold just because he's injury prone (IMG: style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Jun 13 2010, 08:26 PM) But no one was willing to spend 50m on Ambro han. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Technicality (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) And at the time we weren't digging in the dumpsters for old freebies. We didn't really need the money. Ambro was just the guy we kept because he had been with us for a while, since Rino was the main DM in the team

If someone was willing to pay big money I'd sell him and re-invest throughout the team. But it's not like that. Ambro was our best player last season, yet wouldn't demand a big fee because of his age. Pato hasn't performed all that amazingly since joining, but his reputation alone would get us big money.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ Jun 16 2010, 04:01 PM) Compared to his potential. Please enlighten me, how is that even a yardstick for what he does?! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I think Pato did live up to his potential (whatever it is) in his first 2 seasons. statistically speaking, he did even better than Messis or Hiuguains of world football (only mentioning this since people like to masturbate over the prospect of comparing Pato to them so much). no other teenage footballer in recent years, as far as I know, managed to score as many goals as Pato did when they were the same age. This last season was a different story, as he spent about one/third of the season on the sidelines. still 14 goals in 25 games is not bad at all. Statistics aside, he has scored many vital and/or brilliant goals since joining us, do I need to remind people of them? Another interesting fact: no Milan striker in the past 3 seasons managed to score goals against as many diverse/different teams as Pato did - from the biggest teams out there (Inter, Juve, Real, Roma, Fiorentina, etc.) to the bottom-table ones (Siena, Reggina, Lazio, etc.). Pippo comes close but still doesn't match. And the thing is, Milan has been nothing short of an inconsistent, sometimes even pathetic, team in these past seasons but Pato has showed he can perform nonetheless. I still remember comments like "Pato doesn't deserve the teammates around him" when he was about the only one trying and doing something positive. If all of these are not good enough reasons to silence those who insist that he should be sold, I don't know what is. if people don't like Pato, they should just admit that and that stop bringing arguments that don't hold water.

Dude, no one wants Pato to be sold, at least not for now. And it's not about numbers we're complaining about, rather the fact he should be more involved in every match and be the star of this team.
