[OGUCHI ONYEWU: A GESURE THAT MATTERS The US international Oguchi Onyewu, back from a long injury that kept him out the entire season but now ready to represent his country at the world cup in South Africa, was protagonist today of a gesture that's very significant on a human and professional level. Accompanied by his lawyer Jean Luis Dupont, Onyewu has requested and received an extension of his contract, from June 30, 2012, to June 30, 2013. During this extra year, Oguchi Onyewu, by his choice, very much appreciated by the club, has asked to not receive any payment. This gesture of Onyewu's is exemplary and deserves sincere congratulations.] Assuming I got the translation of 'emolumento' right, it means he's asking not to be paid the last - extended - year since he WAS paid this year and got hurt on NT duty and was injured for the whole year.

QUOTE (X-Offender @ May 17 2010, 10:10 AM) He was going to be loaned, but that's why he chose no wage, so he can stay instead. Although he's crap, I feel for the guy. Finally made it to a big club only to miss the whole season. it couldn't hurt to have him here on his wage-free year, i would not even bother loaning him out TBH, what's the point, he's not going to develop into anything special...
