Zigoni has been called up for the U19 Euro qualifying game v. Denmark this week. Yay and +1 cookie for him! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/96.gif)

Also of note, Daniel Maldini scored for his team in their 3-3 draw this weekend. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Yep, he's the one who pwned Seedorf. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) He plays in MIDFIELD though, according to the roster on acmilan.com.

No news yet on how big brother Christian's team is doing. They're slow in updating the info about the youth squads.

Nicceeee!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

So I saw Italy's first game in the U20s on replay ( a 0-0 draw with Paraguay, who are quite strong). Albertazzi was fielded as a centerback and I thought he was very good. Gazzetta also gave him full marks for his coverage and for his general play (he and the other cb, whose name escapes my sleep-deprived mind, were referred to in Gazzetta as 'centerbacks in the old Italian style' which was intended as a pretty significant compliment). The U20s beat Trinidad today, 2-1 and Albertazzi scored the first goal.

Damn I forgot about that game. I'm very glad he's doing well but I'd prefer it if he was doing it as a LB. Forza Michelangelo!

He's being compared to a young Baresi by Gazzetta. I think that may be pushign things a bit but he does look awfully good, or did in the game i saw.

with him, astori, paloschi, strasser, we may be better then we fear, so long as we play the youth over the old farts

Anyone's better than a player who does not care.

I think he's a talented kid and Galli has often praised him.

I'm judging from the little that I've seen from his games with the senior team.

The fact that he's our most played youngster is telling.

We could have won that game - atleast walked away away with a draw. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)
No big deal as I was wearing an Italy jersey anyway! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)
But I was happy atleast it was a Milan player that busted our net! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
