Oohh, so now I see.

If Ambro makes a foul, it's because he's useless. If Gattuso makes a foul it's because it's calculated or beneficial. I see. Well it seems very much like "We'll make fun of Ambro because of something, but when Gattuso has been proven to do it more, we'll just make something up to fit my arguement." Ridiculous.

hahah where exactly do you come up with this stuff? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

those stats also dont reveal who goes into more challenges, obviously ur going to foul more

What do you mean where do I come up with this stuff?

You made fun of Ambro making more fouls than Rino.
I proved that Rino makes for fouls than Ambro.
You make up an excuse that his fouls are 'important'.

I think my assumption was prety accurate based on this. It's all ifs and buts that I'm hearing. Excuses, excuses.

that statistic on the foul does not prove anything cuz it does not show how many times they each get in a tackle

So? The fact is Rino makes more fouls. I'll take a page out of hans book with my answer to this then. Ambro knows his limitations and therefore doesn't make as many tackles because he knows he'll make fouls. Rino doesn't know his limits and thinks (wrongly) that he's the best tackler in the World, but gives away more fouls, blah, blah.

It's like saying if Player A scores more than Player B, then complaining by saying "Well we don't know how many shots each player had." (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

you can't compare on tackles and shots....its like me saying player A gave 100% passing but player B gave 80%, but player A only gave 2 passes where as player B gave 20 passes

i was talking about his tackling, not fouling.

i see gattuso go into challenges more often than ambro since he's all over the pitch, so he's going to foul more.

(Just out of curiosity, what position would you say Barry/Petrov/Alonso/Carrick play?)

Yet han says Rino doesn't attempt many passes because he knows his limitations. Doesn't sound like much of a footballer to me, which he isn't.

what is the job of a DMC ?
the job of a DMC is to defend and help out the defenders not to play long balls and help out the attack thats what AMCs do thats why we have PIRLO.....carick is the pirlo of man untd he gives the balls and he helps the attack...same thing goes to alonso...which petrov are you talking about the one in villa or city....bary is a good player who i see as a better defender than pirlo....you should be comparing gattuso to players he plays similar to...

So you would consider the 4 players I named above as attacking midfielders? Based on the fact that they like to have the ball, play passes, etc?

My point is that they are all DMs and none of them are exactly known for their tackling, mainly because they're not great at it. But they're still all good, International level, DMs. Tackling isn't the only thing that's important to a DM. In fact, as the evolution of football goes, I think the Rino type DM will be extinct soon, the Essien type players will take over.

Petrov at Villa, the City one is not even close to a DM.

After four pages of discussion i am surprised that no one else has stated; it is irrelevant which player is superior, the important thing is that both players benefit the squad in their own little ways, and both can co-exist in the same lineup, and squad, and both can be used interchangeably

Here's to you Gattuso and Ambrosini, and also lets stop this pointless arguing. Instead lets argue on why Favalli has not been thrown out of Milan, or lets speculate on who Oddo will reject next
