Last season he played 42 games in the Bundesliga and UEFA Cup, scoring seven goals and providing six assists. Thomas Hitzlsperger has also established himself as a regular in the German national team, making 47 appearances and scoring six goals. IMScouting’s network of scouts in Germany describe Hitzlsperger as "very technically skilled and famous for his left foot, which is nicknamed 'the hammer,' which he earned thanks to his thunderous shooting." Crucially, Hitzlsperger speaks English following his time at Villa and he could be a useful addition to the Arsenal midfield.
