QUOTE (dst @ Mar 4 2009, 10:03 PM) You should not have snubbed the UEFA Cup! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) But it's certainly not over yet trigger-happy boy! The only thing you have done wrong was dropping two points last matchday. I know you have a tough schedule up ahead but now is when you prove you deserve to be there. If you think your team was there by luck then you don't deserve to see them finish in the top 4 places. Ah... it's so easy to play it smart when your team's not involved! (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) If anything we should have gone out of the UEFA Cup earlier. We've been playing competitive football since the start of July. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) We deserve to be 4th, and we've had some very unfortunate results go our way (We battered Arsenal, Wigan and Stoke at home, yet only got 3 points!) so we certainly are here on merit.. but we'll drop at least 10 points in our next 5 games I think. QUOTE MARTIN O’NEILL is close to wrapping up a summer deal for Manchester City keeper Joe Hart.
The Aston villa boss will shell out around £3million for the England Under-21 star, who is out of contract at Eastlands in June.
Hart, 21, has found his first-team opportunities limited since the £14million arrival of Shay Given from Newcastle.
The Shrewsbury-born ace believes he can make the breakthrough at Villa Park as well as getting European experience next season.
Villa, meanwhile, have extended their shirt sponsorship deal with the Acorns Children’s Hospice for a second season.
The club won huge praise for the move and have again rejected the chance to secure a money-spinning sponsorship deal.
They will carry the Acorns logo on their shirts for free to help the hospice continue to raise funds. Would be good if true. It was silly move by City bringing in Shay Given for a few years and disregarding the possible future England keeper, though they don't exactly need to worry about replacing Given with the money they have. I'd be pleased to get Hart.. but he'd have to be a backup, Friedel is better. Where does this leave Guzan and Taylor though!?

QUOTE Hiddink Angry With Ashley Cole & John Terry For Midweek Antics - ReportThe Dutch coach was distinctly unimpressed by the antics of Cole - and not happy either with his captain's behaviour... (IMG: http://i.goal.com/files/images/stats/goal/en_GB/stage/43553_hp.jpg) Although Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink had earlier said he would be dealing internally with the consequences of defender Ashley Cole's arrest this week for being drunk and disorderly, British tabloid newspaper The Mirror has revealed that the Dutchman vented his anger at both Cole AND club captain John Terry. Hiddink is reportedly furious about the pair's late-night drinking, and has warned the whole first-team squad about their behaviour in future. According to mirror.co.uk, the Chelsea boss told his players that he will not tolerate a repeat. He also confessed to being "amazed” that he needed to enforce off-field discipline among his senior players. Cole spent three hours in a police cell for drunkenly swearing at police officers in the early hours during the week - and England captain Terry, who was inside the Kensington nightclub where Cole became abusive with photographers and police, was also severely rebuked by Hiddink. Hiddink is quoted by the Mirror as saying, “I don’t approve of what happened. “We ask from everyone that they live a proper life. That’s not to say that they don’t have the right to go out." haha what a legend! Scolari probably would have punched the police officers and then had a pint with Ashley and JT lols!

Good for them. I feel for JT and Ashley, they can't even go out without being harassed by the press. If it were more there would be more than just insults thrown their way if they wouldn't get out of my face. Unfortunately for footballers, the police won't do their job and they just act like 'fans' harassing the players themself, what do they expect the players to do.. tell them how wonderful they are? Our police force is awful, they spend more time baiting celebs into doing things than actually looking out for real crimes. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I find Hiddinks last line a bit of a contradiction.. he's saying he's not stopping them from going out, yet is angry at JT.. errr... he didn't actually do anything. QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Mar 7 2009, 04:55 PM) He says he will let his players go out.. then has a go at JT for going out. Please explain.
Why will they sing a player? Isn't that the fans job and not the clubs? Will Wenger have a solo in this song? "Please explain"? Damn I'm trying to start a riot here! Don't you idiot ever make fun of a mistake of mine again!!! (now let's see...)

FA Cup results this weekend.
5th Round game Arsenal 3-0 Burnely. Very easy win for Arsenal with many first teamers rested. Great goals from Vela and Eduardo, a 3rd from Eboue who had a really fantastic game I thought.
Quarter Final games Coventry 0-2 Chelsea. Goals from Drogba and Alex. Good performance by Chelsea, Ashley Cole seemed to react well from his telling off and had a great game. Always good to see Coventry fail.
Fulham 0-4 United. 2 from Tevez, Rooney & Park with the others. They're better than United '99 and are becoming the best team I've ever seen play. No Ronaldo and they still played superb, even Park looks like a World class player now!
Everton 2-1. Wheater with the opener, Fellaini and Saha with Evertons. I really feel for Boro, they deserved the win I thought, but some awful refereeing gave Everton the game. Mark Halsey was the ref, who seemes to **** Villa over, over and over again.. I wouldn't be surprised if he did this to Boro because Southgate's the manager!
