He's very under-rated, if he leaves Arsenal, whoever gets him will be getting a top class player on their hands.

Newcastle 0-0 Everton. Good result for Newcastle considering they had 10 men for the whole second half.

I always liked and rated him. Along with Toure and Walcott, they're the only players I like from Arsenal's current squad. I guess he is underrated since there don't seem to be many teams interested in his services. I'd him in Milan but I don't think he's what we need.

I like it how you don't mention this being a good result also for Villa. You're used to fighting for 3rd now, not 5th huh biatch? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Never thought much of Toure myself. Walcott is very up and down, he barely ever scores in the Premier League, then scores a hat-trick in a big England game while playing RM. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

I like Clichy, except when he's talking trash about us.

I'm stil not 100% certain that Everton won't catch us, so I'm not going to say we're definitly top 5 yet. In saying that, we could realistically finish as high as 2nd. We're only 4 points off Liverpool in 2nd and 1 behind Chelsea in 3rd. Both of them have given up on winning the league, United are way clear now, so if both of them do well in the CL, we may be able to sneak up on them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Not talking about them as players (though I think Toure is a great CB) only. Walcott has still a long way to go but there's something I like in him.

Kevin Nolan red card

Here's the sending off from today. It doesn't look that bad to begin with, even on the first replay, but the second replay.. it's a horror tackle.

Exactly... it's weird how it does not look that bad at all until the second replay. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) But damn that's a clumsy, reckless and stupid tackle!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) He should get three weeks off too... you just don't jump on your opponent's leg like that, it's not in the frame of football challenges.

Should be a huge ban, but FIFA - as usual - doesn't have a clue in how to set the rulings for disciplinary problems. He'll get a 3 match ban I reckon, which is the same as some players get gor barely doing anything. Rules changes are needed for certain.

QUOTE (Bluesummers @ Feb 23 2009, 06:13 PM) *
hey kurt, how much do you think young and agbonlahor go for if we bought them as a package. i mean 10 million should be wonders for a mid table club like aston villa. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Both signed new contracts this summer so the prices would be inflated. We don't need the money at the moment, which would inflate the prices even more. We have no reason to sell them at all, so they'd be even more. The £ is weak at the moment, so obviously the number of £s would be even higher. You'd be looking at at least £25m/£30m for Young alone.

Agbonlahors not worth that much though, he's got lightning pace and is a great finisher, but his football brain is none-existant. Probably £15m though, based on what Walcott was bought for.

Though prices are often hard to predict. I could say Young is worth upto as much as £50m based on how much Tevez has been valued at (£30m) because he's a far superior player in every way.

WHAT? The man's teasing you Kurt and this is what you come up with? I'm disappointed!

hahah young is realistically around £35m cuz tevez should be around 17-23m IMO.

but then keep in mind your team is bult around young and agbonlonhor's speed, while tevez is just a chip thats inserted in and expected to mingle with the likes or rooney, ronaldo, scholes to a certain degree.

Biased.. but true.

Tevez asn't even god for West Ham, yet people seem to worship him. He was **** for 7 months, nearly got them relegated, then played well for about 10 games and scored a few goals that kept them up, and now he's a hero. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

If he weren't from Argentina or didn't play for United, he would be labelled as not good enough, but the team you play for and your nationality seems to have a bearing on your ability for some reason.

Nah, it's the way things go. I thought Tevez was a waste of time at West Ham, so it's nothing to do with him playing for United, it's just that he's a fancy foreign name that he's even considered top half material.

I've seen and heard enough for my opinion to be formed in that way.

The fact that he did not do well in West Ham does not mean anything at all... every player can be a flop when they he enters a new league. Shevchenko was far from brilliant in Chelsea too. Even Zidane was awful when he joined Real.

In my opinion, Tevez has been great with United.

I think he's been terrible with both West Ham and United. Well, maybe not terrible with United, he managed to get into double figures last season which is very impressive for a player of his (lack of) quality.

Maybe you're right, maybe Tevez doesn't fit this league then? That may very well prove to be the reason why he's so poor.
