It seems like we're doing everything we can to hand Villa the 4th CL spot.

To be fair, there's not much you could have done. Before today we'd won 8 and drew 2 of our last 10, it's not like we're there because other teams are doing badly, we deserve to be. The fact you're about 15 games unbeaten and still haen't caught us is testament to how well we've done.

You'll get 4th though, in my opinion. My pre-season prediction was 6th for Villa, and unless we get some points at Old Trafford, Anfield and COMS, that prediction looks solid.

Didn't hear anything about the Arsenal game today besides the result. How did you play, was it one of those where you were all over them but couldn't score? Did Eduardo or Arshavin play?

Arshavin played, Eduardo pulled a hamstring in the Cardiff game and is out for the Roma game.
And yes it was a game where any decent fu*ker except those in our team would have scored a bucketload. Gallas, Vela, Van Persie and Toure were the main cuprits (though Toure's header was cleared off the line).
So that's three 0-0's in a row for us.

Arshavin was Arsenal's only player that actually tried to do something today. Oh Bendtner tried too... but that guy just can't do anything, he's lame. The rest were mostly just walking around. I can't believe they played like that when they knew Villa had lost. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

To be honest, I think it'd have been better for Arsenal had they played the same time as us. It's that added bit of pressure for them knowing that they have a chance to catch us.

When I think about it, I'm pleased with todays outcome. At best, I thought we'd get a draw against Chelsea and that Arsenal would win, meaning they'd gain 2 points on us. They actually only gained 1, so it's a good outcome. Trips to Anfield and Old Trafford await us.. Stoke at home is a must win next week!

If that's how they play under pressure I can't imagine how they'll look when they don't care.

I haven't seen any of the game, so I can't comment. But it sounded to me like a typical Arsenal performance, all the posession, but no goal threat. I'd like to know how RvP performed, because I've noticed in recent months that if he's not on top form, they don't win.

Some problems with his contract? He was saying he wants confirmation that Arsenal really are looking to win something and not be a feeder club for young talent. Only then will he sign a new contract...

Not the best result for them.

I have not watched their last games. My cousin who supports them tells me he's been their best player in the new year and basically he's been the one winning them the matches lately. I think he's scored or assisted all the goals they have produced in the new year.

So I guess it's normal that they could not win because he was mediocre yesterday.

He's very under-rated, if he leaves Arsenal, whoever gets him will be getting a top class player on their hands.

Newcastle 0-0 Everton. Good result for Newcastle considering they had 10 men for the whole second half.

I think Newcastle will win the league next season. The Championship that is. I so hope that they're near the bottom last game of the season, I can't think of many things I'd enjoy more than relegated Newcastle at VP!
