You're upset you missed it? The match was on flippin' FSC at 10 this morning. Had I known in advance...well, you get the idea. Fiddlesticks.

Sorry to dash your hopes, but "Mr. Overrated's" team topped Zidane FC 6-5. As far as I know, Dida and Seedorf were the only Milan players who showed up. (Inert and Juve pooh-poohed the event altogether because of their upcoming match.) Marta also took part in the match, which was awesome.

Um, Mr. Overrated is Zidane and friends. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Great to see the result. And beside it has two of my absolute favorite players (Paolo, Ronaldo, Rui Costa and Dida in that order) playing in the same team.

And yeah, I'd have seen it if I knew about the match.

Oh, and first you think I'm a girl. Then you think my name is Kenny. And finally you think that I think R99 is overrated. Whoa, whoa, whoa, Miz! Heavens to bitsy! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) You and I need to have a little conversation so we can get to know each other better. Tomorrow at lunch?

LOL! Haven't exactly gotten off on the right foot, have I? I'll gladly take my lumps here. Just promise that you won't tell Fishdoll.

Haha. Any time, CMF.

Also, I forgot one: Darmian is called up for the Italy U20s.

Of Milan owned players currently on loan, Di Gennaro and Paloschi are called up for the U21s.

No really, I'm serious. I think he's done some great stuff, but his legacy is nowhere near Pele or (that dirt bag) Maradona. Maybe it will be, I'll give him time. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) Maybe it won't. But you've got to remember what Pele did during his time was different. He played today's football back then. So did Diego. Of course, that's what people and media says, I wasn't there to witness it firsthand.

It's when I find Zidane compared to them - no, a big chunk of this generation thinks he's better, in fact the best (which I don't blame them because they lived in his time and saw him play, not others) - does this overrated stuff come to mind. In terms of pure icon status Paolo beats Zidane hands down. In terms of pure potential, R99 trumps him big time. Heck, Rui Costa was more of a maestro than him. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) That too playing in a crap team. This doesn't in any way make him an average player, I'd give him the crown of being France's best any day of the week. But being the best player in France doesn't make you the best player in the world.

Sheva won't even play for Ukraine? Man, and we thought Chelsea brought his worst days. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

I like what Sereni said about us scoring 6 goals. We could rent him if the prediction turns out right. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Shevchenko, sadly, is over the top. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Pity. For him and Ronaldo, while Totti and Piero are still on.

I'm not sure it's quite time to stick a fork in Shevchenko just yet.

There was an article on Mediaset's website pointing out that (not counting Darmian or the Uruguayans), Shevchenko has had the fewest minutes of Serie A play time of any of the first-teamers. The article wondered if he was done with too.

I've never been a particular fan of the guy but I'd like to hope that he's got it within himself to pull out of whatever the problem is (no proof at all but I suspect a lot of it is confidence related and if the stories about his wife leaving him are true, that's also bound to have an effect) and have some sort of positive impact.

I think it's not that important to call him up, he's still their best player, their captain, the one all the other players look up to. He's scored in almost all their WC qaulifying games, so I don't think that's the reason.

He's looked good for us when he came on in recent games, like Tennie said, he just needs to get his confidence back. And if the troubles at home are true it's bound to have an effect on him mentally.

But I can;t see him being dropped out of the Ukriane squad for any reason other then their coach thinking that it's no point calling up Sheva for a useless friendly. I personally don't understand why Kaka, Rino, etc are called up for their respective teams. These games should be used to call up some of the up and coming guys to give them a chance to see what they can do for their country, not call up the stars who are practically playing 2 games a week
