QUOTE (dst @ Sep 30 2008, 07:21 PM) *
Just something about CR out of the blue since I don't know when the next argument will appear. People say he would not score as many goals as he scored in the EPL if he played in Italy or Spain. Well I doubt that Kaka or Messi (the other two contenders...) would score as many as he did if the played in England too! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

And something more: I hate it how people only talk about how many goals one has scored. Was CR better last season that he was the season before? I don't think so. His contribution in goals was of course higher but football is not goals, football is football and CR does many thing other than score goals!

Bit test for my lot tomorrow. We haven't lost to Chelsea since October 2005 and the last 5 games have seen 4 draws and a Villa win. We were unlucky not to win their last season, but their home record is incredible. Can't see us avoiding defeat yet again, 2-0 Chelsea I reckon. Either way, it's been an incredible start to the season for us!

FT Blackbur 0-2 United.
-Brown and Rooney. So much for top sides not having any English player.

FT Chelsea 2-0 Villa. Joe Cole and Anelka. I really thought we could take something from this game, but our first half performance was by far the worst this season and they just ripped us apart, 2nd half we were better but you can't afford to go 2 goals down and expect to come away with something. Chelsea have the best squad in World football, and Ashley Cole on the basis of this season is easily the best LB in the World, incredible yet again.

There's a reason they're called Chelsea. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mellow.gif) Oh well, hopefully the least Villa takes from this is some good, healthy experience. Haven't seen it, but I wasn't too thrilled with this match - had a feeling Villa are in for a little beating.

As long as they finish 4th, whatever it takes, I'll be backing Villa up till the end! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) It'll be fun not seeing Liver's Pool in the Champions League next year. Hamma, hamma, it will be fun!

Liverpool with an impressive comeback vs. City away. Torres twice and Kuyt on the second half sealing the 2-3.

Well...the impressive comeback was after City went a man down.

Poor Liverpool, their first good season in a million years, and Chelsea are way too good for them. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Tottenham lost 0-1 to Hull, on White Hart Lane.
Oh, the sweet, sweet joy of rivalry!

Hull looking good, but weirdly are still one of the favourites to get relegated. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) Newcastle and SPurs for the drop please!

Well..I don't really expect the Tigers to be in the top 10 or anything...but they've got this great momentum going, which they shouldn't let up on. Reach that 30 points mark as quickly as possible.

Newcastle for the drop?? No...I expect them to finish 13th or so. Depends on if the sale etc...can happen before the winter window opens.

Spurs'll probably fire Ramos (15 million more) and then somehow avoid relegation. Probably Stoke to go down. Maybe one of Fulham/Bolton...can't say.

You never know, they may do what Ipswich did a few years back, they won promotion and finished 5th!

Newcastle are in trouble, big time. If the sale goes through, the buying party have already said they would like to re-install Keegan as manager, which is a huge mistake in itself (Did you see his record before he walked out!) but then in January.. who is going to want to go to Newcastle? Seriously, if you're a decent player that has the ability to play for a good team in the league, they'll go elsewhere, unless they spend stupid amounts of wages again. Then you get back into the old cycle of them nearly going bust, looking for a new owners, and over and over.

Newcastle also have a problem with Owen, his contract is out at the end of the season and there's been strong rumours that he'll be sold at a cut price in January, if he leaves and they dont spend big in Jan, they're as good as gone in my opinion.

I think Stoke will go down, then it's close between about 5 or 6 teams. I do think Spurs have too many quality players to get relegated, but you never know.

If the new owners come, rest assured even if they bring back KK, the target would be the same as it was when KK was brought on board the first time under MA. Save the team from relegation. At present Newcastle have enough calibre for that.

As for Owen, it depends on the new project the owners present. Obviously as with any other purchased club, the expenses will balloon before they stabilise.

At present, whether it's KK or Ramos or Laudrup, I couldn't care. There must be stability. I like what Kinnear is doing tbh. That press conference did serve the purpose of taking the spotlight off the players.

I don't know why people think it's going to be Liverpool out of the top 4, the ones that look weakest to me are Arsenal. Yes, they're doing ok at the moment but look at their fixture list so far compared to everyone else.
