Go Hull! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

They are in 6th place at the moment. Great goal by Geovanni.. Gallas with a header off the crossbar, unlucky.

Arsenal have arguably had the easiest fixture list so far this season. West Brom, Fulham, Newcastle, Blackburn, Bolton and Hull. That's 2 promoted teams, 2 teams who were within 3 points of relegation last season, a team in an absoloute mess at the moment, and Blackburn. I don't think you'll find a team who has had an easier schedule, yet they've still lost 2 out of 6.

I'm a fan of Torres. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) But his overall performance has been pretty bad. But he's scoring goals, and that's all that matters.

Oh dear, Rory Delap is injured for Stoke, there goes their whole game plan. Chelsea are going to own them.

Poor Victim FC, nothing ever goes there way, they even have to play against 10 men now, how will they cope!? (Tim Cahill sent off).

oh dont get me wrong i like the guy too, despite me hating liverpool and not being the biggest fan of spanish players ( i just find their national team including their coach are a bunch of arrogant pr1cks).

hahah, the merseyside derby has such a high red card ratio!

I have to keep looking at this to see if we're really 3rd. I still can't believe it!

I don't think we'll be anywhere near the top (in terms of points) by the end of the season, but we have the 2nd best manager in the league and a young English squad with a superb chairman. This is the first time in about a decade where I can actually be excited about what Villa can acheive!

Next up is away to Chelsea in the league. They haven't beaten us since September 2005, they don't seem to like playing us! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Arsenal reserves 1-4 Villa reserves. First time I've seen our reserves this season and they were up against an Arsenal side which featured 9 of the 11 players that beat Sheffield United 6-0 in the Cup. Arsenals reserve coach was fuming, really ripping into his player. Apparently they're all a bunch of over-confident, arrogant players who think they've won every game before they step onto the field and will never get near the Arsenal first team with this kind of attitude. Fluke.

Just the way I like answers like these: short and simple! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Seriously, Aston Villa are really starting to surprise me since the start of this season. I still consider Arsenal, Chelsea and United the top 3 clubs of the EPL, but it'll be really something if Villa can somehow at least finish 4th this year. That would suit Liverpool more than me, once they miss out on the Champions League.

Fluke? You clearly don't know what you're talking about. That's 3 in a row our reserves have beaten yours and..

Reserve League Champions 07/08: Aston Villa
Academy (Under 18) League Champions 07/08: Aston Villa

There's no fluke about it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

We have one of the top 2/3 academies and youth facilities in the country, always have. Maybe because we get all of our players from when they're in their early teens and train them up the way we want, while most other top clubs just steal from other clubs and these players have been trained in a different way.

We won't finish 4th. We lose games that we shouldn't, we struggle to break down some teams and we conceed too many late goals. But nothing will surprise me with MON in charge to be honest, he's under-rated because he hasn't had any high-profiled jobs. But I think even the likes of SAF and Wenger would struggle to do what he's done. Just 27 months ago we'd finished 16th and just missed out on relegation, now we're one of the top 6 teams in the league. He is a genius.

And to relate to what Zdrs graph, we're doing it the proper way, 7 English starters with a further 5 English players on the bench. So it can be done! It's a shame that so many foreigners are coming over here.. they're obviously money greedy people. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Kurt, the clock was 03:51, was you expecting me to be reasonable?
I just wanted to provoke you into digging up 3.5 million tonnes of statistics, that's all.

Just something about CR out of the blue since I don't know when the next argument will appear. People say he would not score as many goals as he scored in the EPL if he played in Italy or Spain. Well I doubt that Kaka or Messi (the other two contenders...) would score as many as he did if the played in England too! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

And something more: I hate it how people only talk about how many goals one has scored. Was CR better last season that he was the season before? I don't think so. His contribution in goals was of course higher but football is not goals, football is football and CR does many thing other than score goals!
