Never despair, everything's possible, who dares to dream etc.
That's enough motivation from me for today.

Thank you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) Hope is all I have!

Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson tips Aston Villa to win the league

ASTON Villa have been sensationally tipped as Premier League title contenders this season - by Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Manchester United chief has earmarked Villa as potential “dark horses” to challenge his reigning champions for their top flight crown.
Martin O’Neill has spent around £45million of Randy Lerner’s fortune this summer to turn Villa into Champions League candidates.

Villa are cautiously optimistic of improving on last season’s sixth-placed finish and putting pressure on United, Chelsea, Liverpool.

And Fergie’s words of praise for the claret and blue revolution is evidence that O’Neill has got the big four looking over their shoulders.

“As far as the title race is concerned Aston Villa could be the dark horses,” said Ferguson, whose own title aspirations suffered an early season blow in yesterday’s 2-1 defeat Liverpool.

“Martin O’Neill’s buys this summer have been very impressive. He’s building a very solid squad.

“Martin O’Neill is doing a very impressive job and this season they could surprise everyone.”

Villa take on Tottenham at White Hart Lane tomorrow night determined to get back to winning ways after a 3-2 defeat at Stoke and 0-0 draw with Liverpool.

Carlos Cuellar could be on the bench after recovering from a calf injury, but Steve Sidwell is still sidelined with a knee problem.

Did SAF have some sort of mental breakdown after todays defeat or something? If we win tomorrow we're right up there, but win the league.. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

Mike "Fat F" Ashley statement.

It seems he's going to sell Newcastle. This club deserve 'a Abramovich'. An historic club like this one, with loads of potential... I'd really like to see going back to the top.

I think it's best for Newcastle. That poor club is in a horrible state.

Some Indian billionnaires were in for them and pulled out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Hopefully Everton are the next for a takeover, and Spurs - but they don't seem to need money. The big 7 of English football.. and Man City (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) .. would then all have rich owners.

Heh...Newcastle with Indian owners (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) That would be the day. We'd be worse than Ashley at spending, but be Moggi like in the transfers. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

But they are the Ambanis, one of India's foremost business families. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

Everton is another historic club.

BTW, thinking on Newcastle, Spurs, Everton and City. Who has more fans in the UK + who are the most loyal ones? Just curiosity.

This question is obviously to the British Crew in MF: kurt, Brill, I_Ross, etc.

From what i have seen Newcastle fans are diehard, I would say they are the most loyal

I hardly have access to a cross section of the country as i am Manchester based, that said there is a lot of loyalty by the Man City fans i know (this was even pre Thaksin), they are completely rabid now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) . Through thick and thin they always went to matches even those bitterly cold Carling Cup matches (or so they said)

I dont know too much about Everton but Spurs are admired. I would maybe say that they have a little more support than Everton but they seem to be on a similar plane nontheless

I am no where related to England, Porty, but if I had to choose from the ones listed, it'd be the Newcastle fans. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) This is from personal experience with friends, relatives and general acquaintances.
