So I'll say that $heva is crap all the time while I'll tone down my comments about Inzaghi, Gattuso, Seedorf, Maldini and Nesta when they play poorly...I'll also never welcome any of them in their present diminished condition (I'll take Nesta back for footballing reasons as he's the best defender in the world)....especially if they depart in the manner $hitchel$ki did.

Yeah, I know and when he does well I'll point it out majorly. It will work both ways I guess, I was never a fan of Ronaldo so would pick out on all of his faults quite often, I guess that's what's going to happen with yourself and Sheva.

Speaking of Quaresma... he had his debut against Locarno. 2-2 draw... terrible performance by Inter tho. This was a second tier Swiss side... Inter went 2 goals down.

Honestly, I think he's gonna flop.

Quaresma Shines In Inter Comeback
New Inter signing Ricardo Quaresma made an impressive debut in the friendly against Locarno, helping his team come back to draw after going 2-0 down.
»Comments (19) Print This Story Send To A Friend Contact Us galleria zoom Today new Inter recruit Ricardo Quaresma made his debut for the Nerazzurri and, although the same cannot be said about the team's performance in the friendly against Locarno, he did not disappoint. The two goals that allowed the Italian champions to come back from 2-0 down against the Swiss second division team were created by the Portuguese winger.

He gave the assist for defender Ivan Cordoba's first goal and inspired the move that led to the penalty converted by Julio Cruz. Quaresma made himself dangerous frequently with unpredictable moves, skillful plays, and his trademark trivela shot.

Aside from Cordoba, also Patrick Vieira, Walter Samuel, and Olivier Dacourt all made their return on the pitch after a long injury lay-off. Jose Mourinho can be satisfied about these players' progress and he will hope to have them all back soon.

*nuff said.....I have heard you praise Zambrotta like he was made of gold in our preseason friendlies giancarlo so don't take the kid's thunder from him.....yet (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) I think he's going to be a huuuge success and him and Mancini are going to be a thorn in any opponent's side for the whole game
*edit2* he actually did a trivela free kick!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pirate1.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/guntootsmiley2.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dramaqueensmil.gif)

Fine by me (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

BUT you should know that I was once a HUGE Shevchenko # 7 fan. Pity that the year I finally decided to buy his jersey is the year he left.....my friends couldn't get me to shut up about him.....I actually at that pointe loved him and Ronaldo equally (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif) yes it's true. Where Ronaldo failed with poor work ethic, laziness and general lack of interest Sheva thrilled us with his persistence, determination and commitment to the cause....he was even willing to play on the wing to feed G!la!!!!

BUT THAT WAS THEN

Where was Inter's defense?

Cordoba seems to have done better scoring, yet not defending.

Where was the defense? Quaresma made himself dangerous? Against what side? Zambrotta did well enough in a real game.

Quaresma is overrated, egotistical and cares nothing about anyone but himself.

Good one copying and pasting the goal.com article. I think he's gonna flop in the Serie A. Mancini? Mancini a thorn in any opponent's side? You must be kidding.

And in Italy, his tricks won't work. Welcome to the most defense league in the world. He'll get chopped down faster than anything.

Quaresma sounds likes Inter's own version of Tiago to me. You post an op/ed piece saying he "shined"... but who exactly did he shine agianst? who is lucarno? LOL. This isn't the second division Swiss league he's gonna play in.

He's gonna come up against big defensive guns and defensive midfielders (like the ones we got who would chop him down). Personally, he's not very physical...

And don't even try comparing Zambrotta to this guy. Zambrotta is proven world class and he is still world class.

I have to agree with Tennie here. Quaresma on his day can tear apart any team singlehandedly. He has lacked consistency, but maybe Mourinho will sort that out.

There is no way that you can compare Tiago (or Almiron for that matter). Tiago always was an average player, whereas Quaresma has seemingly limitless raw talent. Quaresma can be a potential world class player if he performs consistently. Tiago was only ever at best a good player

CR in his early Man Utd days lacked consistency. But look at him now, he is a consistent performer, unless of course he plays against a good team and chokes...(generally...)

Primarily Euro Cup. He was less than impressive. Maybe I'm generalizing off too much from that... but I don't think he'll perform in high pressure situations (like against Milan or Juventus).

I'm going to go up against people saying he's one that will tear apart any team. I don't think he has the appropriate skills to do that. He's far from world class. I think the comparison to Tiago is fair.

I've seen him play more than that, both for club (Porto) and for his NT. He's far better than Tiago, who I don't think is even close to being a good comparison. Quaresma is better than that. The only Portuguese wingers in Quaresma's league are Simao and C Ronaldo. Talent and technical skill are not the issue with Quaresma; his temper is. That's the wildcard - if he can keep that under control, he's every bit as dangerous -if not moreso - than Cristiano Ronaldo.

I think people are vastly overrating him. Sorry I just won't admit anything about this guy and I refuse to rate him anymore than I have had. Quaresma, mark my words, will just turn out to be a flop (or at best an average player). In defensive heavy Italy, he's going to run into defenders that will seriously mess him up.

One player did agree with me... Andrea Dossena.

Sorry, Giancarlo, I think you're dead wrong on your assessment of Quaresma.

And what exactly did Dossena say? Got a link?

Okay, go ahead and just say I'm wrong.

I think people are putting so much hype on this overrated player it's almost becoming obnoxious.

Yes it is goal.com (but it cites Gazzetta)...

Quaresma compared to Tiago (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Shows how much you know about the guy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
Quaresma was taken to Barca and made the 1st Team at the same age that Ronaldo did (i.e. muuuch younger than Ronaldinho) He played well there but out of position and Rijkaard didn't have the patience with him that he ha with Ronaldinho.....Quaresma was far too arrogant himsellf anyway....but it was clear that he has World Class talent.......He was only a couple of months older than CR7 and CR7 said that Quaresma is his hero . Tiago has NEVERbeen in these circles......Quaresma's problem isn't talent or being able to break defenses wiiiide open...he just thinks that he's god and can do whatever he feels like....it's also hard to motivate him for the lesser matches....If Mourinho manages to tame the beast mark my words he'll be a monster...His free-kick technique and dribbling moves are also fantastic...but a bit overdone if he wants to keep his legs on his body in italy
