But that's because the best player in Italy - Zlatan Ibrahimovic - is irreplaceable.

What Tennie said.

@kurt ... inter always had a squad ! In fact they always had a squad with exceptional players. Their striker slots always have great names filling them and their midfield is the deepest in Serie A ... And no doubt, the signing of Mourinho just gave them a boost, who seems to be keeping his mouth shut and concentrating of football.

But I just cant see them as champions this year, Jose will be getting a lot of heat if results don't stack up, and the merda have been known to bury their heads in the sand if they cant keep up with Milan and Juve. I expect them to share that fate again.

That said, I believe they have a shot at the Champions League, the only teams beside the merda that I can see challenging are Barca and Chelsea. But if Mourinho can somehow reach the final and meet a team of such caliber, then I hope he crashes and burns (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I really think Inter's depth has started to decline and anyone can see that in the last season... towards the end of last season. They nearly threw away the scudetto.

Anyways, Juventus had a huge blow. Nedved and Sissoko are now injured...

http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/aug28h.html

They are missing Camoranesi, Chiellini (thanks to you know who), Nedved, Sissoko... and perhaps some others...

I really think Milan has a very good chance at winning this season for sure ... Maybe some wont understand this, but Milan without the Champions is a very sad Milan, they will be focusing on Serie A no doubt with a very big appetite for success in Italy.

I hope Shevchenko integrates fast, as he has a lot to prove on the pitch.

LOL. He's not the best player in Italy. Far from it.

But yeah, he's irreplaceable for them.

Respect your opinion, as always, R7.

I think the Jose system will help them in terms of playing. They do have a very good squad and with the formation Jose uses, and the players they now have, it will allow them to play wide and stretch out defenses. This in turn will give Zlatan more room to do his job. I just think he's what they've missed, it's what Chelsea missed before he was there. They couldn't take pressure and threw things away. Jose copes well and his teams were grinding out big wins while even playing badly.

I do agree with you however, that if Inter do have a little run of 2 or 3 bad results in the middle of the season, and maybe slip 5 or so points behind Juve and Milan.. the players make panic a bit.

The Champions League will be close, I still think there are 7 or 8 sides that're very close. My personal pick is United - then Fergie will retire.

1: Inter
2: Juve (7/10 points behind)
3: Milan (3/5 points behind)
4: Fiorentina (7/10 points behind)
5: Roma (5/7 points behind)

That's how I think it'll be come the end of the season.

as for the Champs League:

Winners: United
Finalist: Barcelona
SFs: Chelsea, Inter

Very early predictions for everything, I know.

I totally don't think Inter is winning another scudetto. They may have a bad start... because of all their injuries. I think Jose's tactics are poor and I never admired what he has done. Nor do I think ManU is gonna win another CL title.

I think they will, but not in the foreseeable future. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) Goes for both inter and Man U. By the way, just for the record, Milan is the only club to win the CL twice consecutively (in the old format). I believe in 89 and 90. Yay!

In the new CL format no one won the League twice consecutively.

In the old format? Real Madrid 4 times in a row, Bayern 3 (or even 4), Ajax 3, Benfica 2, Inter 2,..

with jose inter will def be a monster team to compete with. Once he gets the italian league it will be very hard to compete with his determination and tactical ways.

I meant last club to. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush.gif) Unless I'm wrong and someone won it twice in a row after Milan.
