Funeral Farce As Galliani Is Attacked By Roma Thugs

Milan president Adriano Galliani has been attacked by Roma fans at Franco Sensi’s funeral in a farcical act of stupidity.

The Rossonero chief was attacked with water and he was booed, jeered and heckled by thugs who breached security at the San Lorenzo al Verano church near Rome, in what can only be described as an act of sheer madness.

Galliani was being escorted to the church by his entourage who quickly jumped into action to defend the bald-headed chief.

It is believed the thugs are angry with Galliani because he never saw eye to eye with Sensi in the past, and his presence at the funeral didn’t go down well with the Ultras, who rather than assist and pay respect, tried everything to make a sad day even worse for the club.

The whole Roma squad was also present at the proceedings with Julio Baptista also paying tribute.

This latest act of violence comes just days after a group of Lecce fans assaulted former Juventus star Antonio Conte at the weekend.

It seems as if Violence is moving away from the stadium and onto the street as Italy still can’t find a way of clamping down on the thugs that ruin calcio’s image.

These people who call themselves 'supporters' continue to tarnish Calcio. And still nothing is done, disgraceful. And they do this at their own president's funeral to continue to add insult to injury (IMG:http://www.pic4ever.com/images/4fvgdaq_th.gif) (IMG:http://www.pic4ever.com/images/4fvgdaq_th.gif)

That's just ... about as bad as it gets. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) What is this the month of bad news? Ultras always will be ultras. Attacking someone, and that too at a funeral. What's the world coming too?

According to Italian media reports, they weren't any nicer to Moratti. I agree though: NOT the thing to do at a funeral.

This is out of hand at a funeral

Conti (former Juve boy) was attacked yesterday(!?) while relaxing on a beach. These damn hooligans need to be taught a lesson, do something government!

This is the kind of crap that tarnishes Italy's image as a whole.

And this is at a funeral... you never do this at someone's funeral! It's a complete disgrace. If I was a relative of Sensi I'd probably try to beat up those people who did this. It doesn't matter if it is Galliani... this is a funeral and Galliani has every right to be there.

Whatever happened to the sense of respect of family in Italy? Those who past on are to be respected and honored and this is not the way to do it!

This really pisses me off!

How do you know? Have you been watching "What animals do at funerals" on the Discovery Channel or something?
