Well it's different in different clubs. In Milan it's a seniority based thing. And they haven't changed it in years. So I doubt, they'll do it now.
At any time, the seniormost person on the team playing in the field is captain. In a way, it uncomplicates matters and keeps dirty politics out of the game.

QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Aug 19 2008, 08:27 PM) Determined, humble, is correct, fears God, and is the star of Milan, after Maldini. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG: style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Is that like a new requirment for being captain these days?

Well you wouldn' want the new captain to say-" I'm an atheist, I believe Maldini does not exist!" (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I mean how dumb would he look?

Kaka fears God? There's no such thing in Christianity... Why are we hijacking this "Kaka thread" with the captain-issue? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

QUOTE (acid911 @ Aug 20 2008, 01:50 PM) Yeah, why? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) My guess is because he wants to be Milan captain in the near future, but for the sake of the forum, there could/should be a dedicated 'Milan Captain' thread if the need arises. Actually, there is one if I'm not correct,..

Looks like he won't get to start the first match of the season

QUOTE (Giancarlo @ Aug 22 2008, 05:44 PM) It's for the better. We have other players that can fill in for him right now, and our team seem to have done fine even without him (for example that match against Juventus). I'd much rather he get the rest. It's for the better that he's still out injured?? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) We do have people to cover him now, but still you will always miss a player like Kaka, not just him not playing but his presence on the pitch gives everyone confidence. And these were just friendlies, you can't compare them with actual competitive matches in the league. Hopefully there won't be anymore setbacks after this, especially because the Inter game come really early this season. But until he comes back we'll probably play Seedorf, Ronaldinho and Pato in attack
