*frown* Okay, my bad. I was sure it was just one of them.
In that case, I'd still rather use the two non-EU spaces on defenders (unless, say, Panucci or Chiellini suddenly become available).

QUOTE (Giancarlo @ Aug 19 2008, 10:57 PM) Yeah as much as I like Sheva, we should really consider our options as far as the non-EU spots are concerned. Like when we got Pato, it was a superb decision... right now, I think we should buy Thiago Silva (why was he benched in the Brazil/Argentina game? He's better than Alex Silva)... Because Dunga is an idiot, which in turn explains why he benched Pato for Sobis (IMG: style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Alex Silva... no offense to him... I mean he's good, but by no means world class. Thiago Silva is just on another level. Thiago Silva only played the game against China. He's simply a better defender. He was benched for the rest of the games. Dunga really doesn't know what he's doing. Why do they still have this clown? Sobis over Pato, Alex Silva over Thiago Silva... it just doesn't make any sense. Bluesummers, I've never seen anything official on the goalkeeper Felipe... if there was a thing about Milan buying the contract and leaving him on loan another year to Santos... there would be some mention of it.

Yeah, I'm not so sure on this one now as well. Because Real Madrid bought Ezequiel Garay this season but have loaned him to Racing Santandar (the same club they bought him from) but they mentioned that on their website and everywhere else. If the Felipe this is true, then why so hush-hush about it? (IMG: style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif)

One of our boardmembers (whoearthepatriots?) reported that a relative of his had run into the English Student in the US over the summer - and that (to be kind) my Portuguese is probably better than his English.
EDIT: (While I can read Portuguese more or less, I can only say a few things. Important things like 'more red wine', 'I would like some pasteis', 'thank you', and of course an interesting variety of curse words learned at football games.)

QUOTE (whoarethepatriots @ Aug 13 2008, 01:43 PM) My uncle had a run in with a former Milanista his name was... Andriy Shevchenko
Turns out Sheva was in New Jersey with family (his wife's probably considering she is an American) Sheva still speaks very little English. He could barely say hi. btw this happened quite a few weeks ago but i never posted (or remembered) till now There's the quote. And, well, nicely inserted favourite word, Porty.

Sheva back? *sigh* I know what will happen. The fans will boo...he will score...he will get on his knees or something and give an apology. They will quieten down and by mid-season, they'll be cheering again. If we win the scudetto this season, it will be as if Sheva never left. I don't want Sheva back, because of the damage it could do to his legacy. The guy who left and came back with this tail between his legs. He's 32. He's no Pippo, and does depend on athleticism for his play. He could give us 2 years and that's stretching it. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) But then again, Silvio sees him like a foster son. If Silvio wants him back, I won't question that decision. It won't be the first impractical decision we took based on sentiments, and it won't be the last. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/sleep.gif)

He's also Italian mafioso. Which means, he'll be successful inspite of the sentimentalism and sometimes because of it.
