What's the betting that when Wenger was asked about that foul after the game, that he said "I didn't see it". (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Of course. Cynical french.
If it was the other way around he'd say something like "should be banned for life".

Nasty injury for Sneijder. Ow. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) (Still don't like the player though. He's quite good but I mentally put him in the [insert Porty's favorite word] category along with C Ronaldo, Vieira, etc.) Not as bad on the face of it as Eduardo's injury -- though the last I heard about him is that he's started to run again, which is great news.

Don't you realise Wenger is trying to shield Diaby from the press? He lets the blame fall on him instead, and I'm sure he'll have a few words with Diaby about the incident. Besides it's still uncertain how serious the injury really is.
Hell, when that happened to Eduardo that **** who was managing Birmingham just went on with "Martin Taylor is such a nice chap, he really is, he'd never do it on purpose, it's unfortunate this happens, but etc."

Oh, and:

"Eduardo? I wasn't watching it live. In this case I was. And unlike Eduardo, Sneijder is a world-class player who I like to watch."

But you no doubt saw some replays of it.
But since Eduardo according to you isn't world-class, then you don't care, right?

Until a crazy guy like Matrix breaks Diaby leg, he won't learn. The number of tackles he puts in that are just insane.

Right.

Eduardo and Sneijder are lucky, they don't really have a right to complain about their injuries. What the hell is a 6/7 month injury in a 15 years career.. especially when they're both still very young.

But when you're 33, one swing of the leg can mean that an injury will retire you, and mean that you can't walk again for 5 years, they're lucky the same didn't happen to them. Poor Luc Nilis. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

I think that when something like this happens to you, you are allowed to complain a bit.

On another note, there was this report on goal.com saying Barry's testimonial is postponed?

Kurt? What testimonial? Why? First, he's not leaving football? Second, he's not even leaving Villa for sure! So what's going on?

Well, it's a risk they know about, and they sign a contract knowing that.. and they still get to work and get paid for it, so..

This is how it's done in EPL.

Ben Thatcher and Lucas Neil make Materazzi and Poulsen look like angels.

You don't need to leave football to get a testimonial, you are allowed to have one after you've played 10 years of football for one team. The reason it's been postponed is the way he's handled himself over his proposed transfer to Liverpool. A testimonial is mean to be a tribute to your loyalty.. would seem a bit silly that we're celebrating his loyalty when he's leaving. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

He'll be going to Liverpool, no idea when, but sometime in this transfer window. Maybe after we play them on August 31st.

With the 50th anniversary of Bobby Moore's debut for West Ham, they have decided to retire the number 6 shirt in his memory. I don't think retiring numbers in football is sensible, and a bit tacky really. There are thousends of ways to remember players, won't be long until we'll be seeing 3 digit numbers on theback of shirts. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
