Not really if we are willing to splash the cash. Cause Liverpool have got too many defenders now. And they need money to have that Barry transfer go through. And Richards will be tougher but maybe if Man City doesn't perform well and we do, we might be able to entice him out of that club.

And Maduro is another probable defender we can get.

Liverpool haven't got many CBs. Carragher, Agger, Skrtel & Hyppia (In that order) would be who they will use, and Skrtel will be no more than #3 here too, Nesta and Kaladze will start, doesn't matter who we buy in my opinion, Carlo rates Kaladze too highly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

And they also got that Hobbs guy and that Darby guy. they both played in the pre-season and as far as I've heard, they've been impressive.

But why would he do that? I'm sure he must have been watching the same games as we were. Although, only without the benefit of replays of key moments. I mean, I believe that Ancelotti knows that which player is playing well and who isn't. that is why he played Inzaghi in the CL final 2 years ago instead of Gila and look how he won the game for us. And... and... but... but... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Benitez won't be picking youth players ahead of Skertel, he'd look rather stupid too since Skertel is the most expensive defender they've ever bought.

I don't think signing a new CB - no matter who it is - will affect the first team lineup. If Paolo is ready to play, he'll start alongside Nesta. If he's not fit, Kaladze will.. he even bought Bonera in and Kaladze still gets picked in front of him. Even though Bonera is better. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Skrtel, Ivanovic, Kompany, Micah Richards, Garay, Corluka and Heitinga.

Heitinga just joined Atletico Madrid. Skrtel won't leave Liverpool. We've no money for Richards and Garay is a Real Madrid player (though on-loan to Santander).

Ivanovic, Kompany and Corluka... hum, Ivanovic might be an option but I don't think we'll get anyone else this Summer.

Thing is, friend, are we watching the same games as they? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) That's what matters. Calro has this little thing going on with players, some secret games, and he guesses the player's potential with that. Kaladze, Seedorf and Borcchi have won gold medals in these games, so that's the reason they are his favorite players. No wonder they start!

And just for the record, starting Inzaghi in the CL final was Mr. B's (Silvo Berlusconi) idea. Carlo himself said that he absolutely wanted to start Gila and bring Pippo after the 60th minute. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Glad that he listened, or we'd have been in a deeper pound than we are.

IMO the chance of Milan signing Eto'o is almost zero... I'm not gonna hold my breath

Please, don't. Eto'o is oh so not coming to Milan. At least not while we've got R80 in the squad. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) They don't get on too well, the last time I checked. Even in Barca, so we should count that out. Get Gomez, or any of those two Russian forwards.

QUOTE (zdrossoneri @ Aug 3 2008, 09:42 PM) *
Maybe it's only me but I think Dida can be a good backup for Abbiati. he lacks continuity not quality. he can't be always our 1st 'keeper but if he plays as a sub every now and then he can be excellent. we should give the priority to CB. we simply don't have enough quality in defense.

Heaven's to bitsey he can! It's not only you. And after the Kalac outing we had earlier today, I wouldn't be surprised. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

And also a good, young goalkeeper. (Yes, I'll keep harping on about it in the hope that I can make myself heard telepathically to Galliani. After all, I read somewhere that he's class and can do such sort of stuff

Now, I wonder who said that! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Hehehe.

Actually for the record Silvio was quoted say he'd start Gila over Pippo in the finale.

Did he? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) If I recall correctly it was the other way round. But you know with these sorts of things!

I read that and I brought the esteem I held Carletto in two notches down.

But then I read this:

And now I don't know what to do with the two notches of esteem. Facts before Fiction, people! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

Don't believe any of it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) It's 21st century media, of course, and you never can tell the truth the way these newspapers twist and turn it.

Gee, whiz. Do we want to drain dry all the Braca talent? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) First Zamborghini, then R80, and now Mr. Smart Alic (Eto'o)? What's the world coming to. Oh, and please don't got to inter, Et. Please. In fact, don't even come to Italy.

Well, Kalac is third pretty much by default right now, and so hopefully Dida will take advantage and give Abbiati a reason to be a little nervous after next Saturday.
