Marcelo is certainly not a great player right now. Far from it. But he's very good and if he keeps improving he's certainly going to be among the best.
In my opinion Drenthe has huge potential but he took the step too early... same as Higuain minus the potential...

Of course... Brocchinho is da man!

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

He p!sses all over the Real Madrid kids. Did you see him in Wednesday's friendly??? I'm still wondering why we even bothered with getting Ronaldinho (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

QUOTE (Habitant @ Jul 25 2008, 06:54 AM) *
i dunno how pato is currently better robinho, he was key factor in real winning the league. arguably their best player last year. although i do belive pato has more potential and will be a star for the future.

point is we need more young talent. we arent going to get by with just pato.

anyways i dont buy into this everything real touches turns to shite outlook. for a while their management was retarded and they can still be asses but they've been buying lots of quality players, all of whom have been contributing.

the only one i can really think of that has been a disapointment is drenthe and well they have so many wide players on the left side of midfield, not much room for him. but he will improve.

It's not quite right to compare 18yo Pato with 24yo Robinho [but there's no need to say if I had to choose one, it'd be 18yo Pato - I might be biased, but I'd like to know what others think about it]. Robinho signed signed for Real with sky high expectations [they used to call him "the new Pele" ffs (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) ] but he hasn't lived up to it yet IMO, despite being one of the key players for Madrid last season. he's inefficient most of times... don't you see he's already under Pato's shadow in Brazil's Olympic team (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I agree with your point to an extent though. more talents needed [but not as many as Real brings in every few years]. we especially need one for the future of our defense. hope it's gonna be Darmian because there's a lot of time till C.Maldini gets ready (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

You don't like Higuain? I think he's awesome. He was quite amazing towards the end of last season especially.

I like Higuain, he's rescued Madrid's *** a few times. I only think he lacks that special thing likes of Pato, Benzema, Bojan, etc have. he won't become a world-beater IMO...

Pato is stronger mentally. It took to Robinho some time to adopt to life at big club while Pato, only at 18, produced right away

Why are we comparing Pato and Robinho? They are different kind of players...

They're not that different... at least not as different as Kaka and Crynaldo. people compare these two day and night.

PATO: "I want to score a goal per match at the Olympics"

7/26/2008

SINGAPORE - "I'd like to score a goal per match and become the top scorer of the Olympics with 6 goals." - said Alexandre Pato, with the Brazilian national team at the moment. "I'm happy that Ancelotti trusts me - added Pato talking about his objectives with the Rossoneri - but I haven't fixed a certain amount of goals to score next season."

We hope so, Ducky, we hope so...

(Except when playing Italy).

I hope Pato (and Ronaldinho) do well at the games! And, very importantly, NO INJURIES.

If Pato gets injured it wont be a catastrophic incident, it would at least give Borriello a chance to prove himself

I'm pretty sure he posted this before the news of Borriello injury got out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) I heard it a couple of hours after this was posted. Either way, it's a setback. A big one indeed. Even Inzaghi isn't all well.

There is still Ronaldinho who could play upfront ... Also, the team has till August 31st, so there is a lot of time to get the injured players back.

Well even you can't deny our options are a bit then (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) We've got cover, yes, but what if they get injured too. If given a choice, I'd take fit Borriello, Inzaghi and friends than otherwise.
