The 'update' is being broadcast now or thereabouts. Prolly be a few minutes before a text summary shows up. (I don't have a satellite or the ability to stream so i rely on text stuff).

Well, if it was supposed to be a big announcement, it was a disaster.

The interview was with Ronaldinho's scary brother, who said that Barca are only prepared to discuss concrete offers from other clubs and that the only concrete offer thus far received is from Palmeiras. Barca are apparently not happy with Ronaldinho and are currently inclined to deny him permission to play for Brazil in the Olympics.

It could go either way... and you know that if they go either way... they're usually fake!

In fairness, I should make one clarification: the publicizing of the 'big announcement' came from Studio Sport, NOT from the Milan management.

It's still rather embarrassing.

Galliani: I make an oath to the fans, a great forward will arrive this summer

Milan's vice president and managing director Adriano Galliani, spoke to the paper 'Gazzetta dello Sport' about Milan's goals in the summer mercato. As he took sometime to elaborate on Adebayor and Ronaldinho.

Galliani, President Berlusconi had cut his deal with the people of Italy, and now it's time that he cuts his deal with the people of the rossoneri ?!

Galliani: "Of course, Milan will do all that is in it's power to bring in a great forward, and this is an oath I take upon myself for our fans."

Is it true that documents have arrived as of late, that involve Adebayor and Ronaldinho ?

Galliani: "Yes, that is true. These documents convey confidential information. But our position would change if the costs were too exaggerated."

Then one of them shall arrive; either Adebayor or Ronaldinho ?!

Galliani: "Exactly, and Ancelotti is in agreement of this. On Wednesday, we started to build and reassess the situation. And Carlo is ready now, he is getting Milan ready for Ronaldinho and without Adebayor."

And he backed down from his demands for a striker ?

Galliani: "In the meantime we have brought back Borriello and in all honesty we have faith in him. Without forgetting Inzaghi and Pato. If you put in Kaka' and Seedorf into the mix, our attacking capabilities would surpass that of our opponents."

How much are you planning on spending ?

Galliani: "Of course not Euro 35MM that Barca are demanding. The price has to be lower, closer to a realistic figure."

How do you assess the doubts over your last transactions ?

Galliani: "I can't go into details. But Milan have spent a lot, and in my opinion Milan have invested in the right options up till now."

Tuttosport: Arsene Wenger has given the green light for Adebayor to leave

In the past few days, Togolese international Emanuel Adebayor's name had been liked heavily with a move to Italy, and in the prime destination being the rossoneri. And both Adriano Galliani and the player's agent Fincenso Morbito (spell) have both concurred that a deal was in the pipeline.

Tuttosport newspaper mentioned that Arsene Wenger had finally given into the demands of the player and he had given the green light while in Vienna following the EUROs.

On the Corriere dello sport paper, Adebayor had stated: "I want to play for the rossoneri" and the reply from Wenger was: "I will have a competitive team, without taking into account who the players are!"
