Galliani Grumbles Over Resistant Arsenal
Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has once again blamed Arsenal for the on-going drama surrounding Emanuel Adebayor’s possible move to San Siro.


The Togolese striker is on the verge of completing the switch but Arsenal do not seem like giving up on the striker that easily even though it’s clear Adebayor wants a swift exit.

Galliani fears that Arsenal’s tactics surround the deal will cause it to go up in smoke and he is blaming the North London club for not facilitating the move. 

“Adebayor all depends on Arsenal,” roared Galliani to Studio Sport. 

“If they don’t give him up or if they want too much then it really is finished. 

“Morabito is right, it’s either Adebayor or no-one. Unfortunately, it’s like this but things could change from now until September. 

“We have to see what happens with other transfers such as Drogba, Eto’o and Ronaldinho as there could be a domino effect once one player makes a move.” 

Galliani also spoke about the recent incident at Milan’s head office where a bullet was found in an envelope.

The club has been plagued by a speight of similar incidents in the past and the out-spoken chief believes the fans should show a little more gratitude.

“The fans should be grateful of what Silvio Berlusconi has done for this club as he is always putting money into the club. He has done so much for the club since the 1980’s and we have won more trophies than any other side in the world,” concluded the chief. 

I like Adebayor. I see more potential than current ability in him. The way he rose to the challenge and scored that many goals right after Henry left shows he can take responsibility. I think he will only develop in Milan. The cost? I'm fine with it AS LONG AS Milan also bring in Ronaldinho. We all know we are not getting a keeper this season. As usual, the English translation (is it goal or channel 4?) misses what I think is the important phrase in the interview and instead emphasizes what they think will grab a headline.

What I found most curious in the interview was this: (from Mediaset) "Adesso è così, ma non è detto che sia così fino all'1 settembre, data di chiusura del calciomercato".

The article translates it as: "Unfortunately, it’s like this but things could change from now until September. " I'd translate it as: "That's how it is now, but it's not certain that it'll be like that until September 1, when the transfer market closes."

It's more or less accurate, but the nuance is skewed. The word 'unfortunate' does not appear in the Italian quotation and my reading of the Italian indicates to me that Galliani is leaving a lot of wiggle room for there to be other transfer targets during the window.

As for the actual subject matter of summer transfers, there's supposedly going to be a 'surprise announcement' of some sort today on the sportitalia show that begins in 10 minutes. Hopefully it won't be something along the lines of 'Milan have re-signed Oliveira'.
