QUOTE (zdrossoneri @ Jun 12 2008, 03:39 PM) I didn't really focus on Barzagli but I think Matrix was the real problem that night... he was caught out of positon sooooo many times, he looked lost. watch the 3rd goal. there's one dutch player (kuyt i belive who gets the rebound ready to cross) and one dutch player in a position to score in 6 yard box, with 3 italy defenders (barzagli being the closest to van bronckhorst but leaving him completely open for a header (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) also on 2nd goal both materazzi and got caught on the counter. thing i i can understand marco going up for the corner because he's dangerous but there was no need to thro everyone in the box, andrea included and as a CB he should have been ready to run back.

Barzagli was awful. He needs a top player next to him to cover his many mistakes. But I don't think Chiellini would/will do much better.
In my view Pirlo and Grosso were the only players that really showed up. But Pirlo should play more deep, like with Milan, you listen Dona-l-doni!??

AC Milan more interested in Eto'o than Ronaldinho
Updated: June 12, 2008, 9:59 AM EST 7 comments add this RSS blog email print BARCELONA, Spain (AP) -
AC Milan remains interested in signing FC Barcelona's Samuel Eto'o this offseason, while Ronaldinho is no longer a priority.
"Eto'o forms part of the group of forwards who are priorities for us at this time," the Italian club's director, Umberto Gandini, was quoted as saying by sports daily Marca on Thursday. However, Ronaldinho "does not form part of the first list," Gandini added.
Gandini's remarks echo those of Milan's general manager Ariedo Braida two weeks ago. Brieda said the Italian powerhouse needed Eto'o more than Ronaldinho but acknowledged a large transfer fee would be required to sign the Cameroon international.
Both players, who helped Barcelona win the 2006 Champions League, appear likely to leave soon. The Catalan club is undergoing a makeover after two trophy-less seasons, and coach Frank Rijkaard has already been replaced with Pep Guardiola.
Barcelona would reportedly seek €40 million (US$61.6 million) for the 27-year-old Eto'o, a three-time African player of the year who has scored 77 league goals in his four seasons with the club.
Ronaldinho, who has lost his status as the world's greatest player after a poor season, would likely command a lesser fee. The Brazilian, a two-time world player of the year, is also a year older than Eto'o.
At present, the club most interested in signing Ronaldinho appears to be Manchester City, which said this week it has held talks with the player's representatives.
Milan is seeking reinforcements after failing to reach next season's Champions League, the seven-time European champion only managing a fifth-place finish in the Serie A.

SPEND THE MONEY!!! BRING BOTH OF THEM!!!!
sorry...i'm starting to fall inline with some of the other people here who are tired about us not spending a lot of money. i understand debt and all of that, but signing players like etoo and ronaldinho will sell more jerseys and put fans in the san siro every freaking week.
it's an investment you can make money off of...i don't understand what the problem is!
are we seriously going to lose a world class player to Man City?? MAN FREAKIN CITY!?!?!?!?

MAN FREAKIN CITY!?!?!?!? Simply because spending money you don't own will generate interests, and those interests will increase every year to make your debt grow, grow and grow, in the ned Milan will end like Man U!!! No thanks, I'll stick with Banera, Borcchi and Borriello! (Wow juwt realized that I picked up 3 Milan players whose name starts with a "B", does that mean something?! Leonardo To Scolari: Kaka Deal Impossible AC Milan technical director Leonardo has warned new Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari that Kaka will not be moving to Stamford Bridge. Scolari is reportedly set to be handed a huge transfer kitty this summer and the 26-year-old Kaka is said to be top of his wanted list. Former Brazil boss Scolari, who will begin his new job on July 1, handed Kaka his international debut in 2002 and included the AC Milan star in his World Cup winning squad. But Leonardo has said that despite the links between the Portugal boss and the playmaker, any transfer should be considered impossible. "It's normal for a Brazilian coach to try to bring in Brazilian players," he said to BBC Sport. "But signing Kaka is impossible, because he is here at AC Milan and will be here until the end of his career." Leonardo, like Kaka, also played under Scolari when he was Brazil head coach; and has backed the 59-year-old to be a big success in England. “Chelsea need an important victory - they are looking to the Champions League," added Leonardo. "Scolari won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002 and then took Portugal to the finals of the European Championships two years later. So I think he is a good appointment. "Chelsea were the nearly team of European football last season. They came so close to the Champions League and Premier League. "I think Scolari can bring something more to them, so they arrive at the right result next time." Nice read but these kind of stuff change every week but leanardo is a very gud source specilly when it comes to brazillian (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/innocent.gif)

QUOTE (zdrossoneri @ Jun 12 2008, 01:58 PM) Why doesn't Scolari try for R10? it's more realistic than signing Kaka. and if there's one coach who can help R10 revive his career it's Big Phil! from what i've been reading a lot of people think that he is going to go after ronaldinho and that he would easily pick chelsea over man city. the part that pisses me off is the he has said that he wants to play for milan (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

QUOTE (KillerMax @ Jun 12 2008, 02:46 PM) I don't rate any of those all that high. Zambro used to be great, but he is on a decline. Flamini is solid, but is a DM and that was not an area we needed cover for. GK, DC, SB, AM, ST ^^Those are our priorities. So far, we have sort of covered SB with Antonini and Zambro. The rest still need to be addressed. So true. I'm telling this for weeks but some of you still think Zambrotta is Sergio Ramos or Daniel Alves... when he's not even half of the good ol'Zambro. And Flamini is a player that I never liked but yes, he can be useful.
