QUOTE (KillerMax @ Jun 12 2008, 08:05 AM) ^^ It's all about our transfer budget to be honest. It seems like Berlusconi is done spending his own millions for this club, so we are left with low transfer budgets in a time when we are in the middle of a transition of eras... The new one needs reinforcement, but with one world class striker, nothing is gonna change. We need players like Maggio, Thiago Neves and Lloris/ Adler to start the transition and also give us much needed depth. Ok, so tell me, what is Milan's transfer budget ?! You guys talk as if you know the ins and outs of this club ... All that is happening, is that when Galliani talks to the media, he is not necessarily talking directly to us 'fans', rather he is sending a message out to those clubs that wanna take advantage, summing up publicly that Milan wont be hassled. Another thing, none of you listen to a word that Galliani says, and now all of a sudden his words are like the final testament. Bottom line is, no one outside of the Milan upper management knows how much Milan can spend. Yes, Milan is in the middle of some sort of transition, but, tbh, Maggio, Neves, and Lloris are not what Milan needs right now. Milan needs proven players who are used to the pressure of playing at a top club .. This is not Arsenal, this is Milan! There is still two months left, and I am convinced that before the transfer window closes there will be at least 3 players coming in!! I say this because this isn't the first summer that Milan has been on such a rollercoaster and it wont be the last !

(IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) What happened last summer and the one before that was that what Galliani said actually happened. He said we were going to get 1 striker and that was it, and we got one striker for January and that was it. How do I know the transfer budget is low? Didn't you hear what Braida said? Why Dani Alves wasn't a target? Why aren't we after a world class keeper and even consider 10m euros for Boruc too much?

Well, all I am trying to say is that this is the off-season, where the 'sport' media have nothing to write appart from the transfers (thank God there are the EUROs, or you'd be fed BS after BS ..) What Braida, Galliani, and co do, is a method that has been used for so long now ... They've been using it since and before the Madrid-Perez era ... Whereby they don't get drawn into the crazy figures that clubs would like to collect off of Milan's back ... Last season and the one before it ?! What about them ? You know exactly what Im about to say here, so please spare me .. 10M for Buroc is not too much, 40M for Ronaldinho is not too much and 50M for Eto'o is not too much ... This is Milan after all, but also this is the difference between this management and the rest (this is the longest standing management of any successful club out there and it has been boosting healthy funding along with healthy results for the past two decades) ... What you need to understand, is not what Galliani, Braida or even Silvio says per say, rather understand that this is not a message to the fans ... Milan have already addressed the fans .. And told us that there will be changes to the team, and that is what I am expecting ... With that said, it is still too early to speculate !!

Disastrous. I know what you are going to say about past couple of seasons? I really don't. For all I know, it seems like this coming season will be a continuation of the past two... Anyways, there is a long time still to go. So basically anything we say is just opinion. Let's drop it here and wait until the end of transfer window.

I agree with R7.
Not every message is adressed to us and we should not react to quickly. There is much time left and no reason not to belive changes will come.

QUOTE 12/06/2008 15:14
I Want Adebayor And Drogba - Ancelotti
Carlo Ancelotti admits that either Didier Drogba or Adebayor would be perfect for his side as the Rossoneri attempt to swoop for the Premier League hit-men.
Milan are currently working on both fronts as they attempt to prize one of the two away from their club’s in England.
Ancelotti is a big admirer of both strikers and he reveals that he would like a top class hit-man in his squad and he doesn’t mind which player comes to San Siro.
“I want a top striker and so does the club,†Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia.
“Drogba? Adebayor? Either or, we have to see which one of them is ready to come to Milan.â€
The coach also admits that Chelsea were interested in landing him before they secured the services of Luis Felipe Scolari.
“The discussion of me going there was closed straightaway, perhaps there was an interest on their part but I expressed my intention to stay at Milan.
“As for Mourinho, he has clear ideas and he has presented himself well to Italy.â€
Reports in Italy claim that Adebayor wants out at the Emirates and Galliani is ready to begin waving his fists once again as he attempts to bring the Togolese striker to San Siro. The headline really relates to the text... (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

QUOTE (zdrossoneri @ Jun 12 2008, 07:23 AM) It's not as disastrous as last summer's transfer window though. at least Zambro and Flattuso are two good buys. I don't rate any of those all that high. Zambro used to be great, but he is on a decline. Flamini is solid, but is a DM and that was not an area we needed cover for. GK, DC, SB, AM, ST ^^Those are our priorities. So far, we have sort of covered SB with Antonini and Zambro. The rest still need to be addressed.

Now that Chelsea have officially appointed Scolari (honestly I don't know if he's going to do well in the EPL, but I'm sure Abramovich signed him for the CL because he's quite good in the cup competitions) the market is going to start, I mean the huge transfers are going to start now and it seems that Scolari wants Deco and kaka, and if drogba goes, which is almost certain they can buy either Eto'o or Villa (I think it's going to be Eto'o and Villa will go to Madrid). I only question is Lampard, if Deco goes to Chelsea it could mean that Lampard will definitely leave.
About Adebayor, it seems that his agent is going to ask Arsenal the permission to talk with Milan, and Arsenal is now looking for his replacement, Santa Cruz is in pole ...
I hope Wenger does convince him to stay there, but I doubt he'll go to the clash, he's smart and if the player wants to go he'll try to make the most of it financially!

They are better signings than Ibrahim Ba and Emerson nonetheless (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Zambro wasn't good at Barca, but he was great against Holland... I think the reason for his poor form over the past two years is that Barca's style didn't quite suit his. as soon as he returns to his roots he becomes great again. But I know what you're saying... considering the purchases we have made so far, there's not much chance of winning the Scudetto for us.

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ Jun 12 2008, 02:15 PM) I thought he was terrible. The left side certainly looked more threatening when Grosso came on, that's for sure. Zambrotta should either be dropped or moved to the right, Grosso is much better - at least for Italy anyway. he'll play on the right for sure and grosso will start, thats another certainty. i'm also sure chiellini will start, and i have the sneaky suspicion barzagli might get a 2nd chance, but then i again i can see panucci starting in the center. midfield i'd like to see pirlo - der rossi - perrotta and up front del piero will start for sure with toni and possibly cassano.
