Tottenham boss Juande Ramos has reportedly emerged as the favourite to sign £11million-rated Giovani dos Santos from Barcelona this summer.The 19-year-old is currently on the books of Spanish giants Barca and is widely regarded as one of the hottest properties in European football.

He has been forced to wait his turn at the Nou Camp, but has been tipped for the top since bursting on to the scene at the U17 World Cup back in 2005.

The Catalan club had hoped to see the youngster become the natural heir to Ronaldinho, though he is yet to dominate the senior game in the same manner as he did at youth level.

Dos Santos made 28 Primera Liga appearances for Barca last season, and scored a hat-trick on the last day of the season during a 5-3 victory at Murcia.

He has five full caps for Mexico despite qualifying to play for Brazil through his father, himself a former footballer, Zizinho.

His failure to hold down a regular first-team spot under Frank Rijkaard during the 2007/08 season alerted the attention of a host of Europe's top clubs, with Manchester City early contenders for his signature.

However, should the talented teenager decide to leave Spain this summer it would appear that White Hart Lane is now is most likely destination, with Spurs expected to shell out around £11million in order to get their man.

As for who to nick from Roma in exchange for Borriello, I'd prefer Aquilani or De Rossi but they're both local boys and I'm not too sure either will leave.

Curci would be an interesting choice. So would Mexes, who Berlusconi is already on record as liking.

Amauri was expected to sign for the Old Lady on Tuesday after his medical but, once again, the transfer saga has been drawn out by another needless delay.

Neither party could complete the paperwork, as two of the players involved in the deal - Antonio Nocerino and Davide Lanzafame, who both head to Palermo - were not present to sign their contracts.

While a further delay is far from ideal, Grimaldi has confirmed that the deal for the player is done.

“Everything has been resolved, Amauri will sign his contract on Friday at 10 am,” Grimaldi told Stadio News. 

“We are all delighted. We couldn’t complete the deal today because we have to wait for the signatures of Nocerino and Lanzafame who arrive on Thursday.” 

Reports claimed that the Brazilian hit-man would earn €3.7 million per season and that it was a four year deal, but Grimaldi has revealed information to the contrary.

“Amauri will sign a five year deal, not a four year contract - and he will earn €3.5 million per season plus bonuses,” he revealed.

Lloris To Milan Within 24 Hours

In yet another turnaround of events, Controcampo claims that Milan will complete the signing of Nice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris within the next 24 hours.

It has been widely reported in the European press over the past few weeks that Milan were closing in on the capture of Nice shot-stopper Lloris.

However this all seemed to have changed on Monday when Lyon President Jean Michel Aulas told French Radio Station RTL that Lloris would sign for his club by the end of Tuesday.

This has not materialised, and in yet another turnaround of events, Controcampo now claims that Milan will indeed officially sign Lloris within the next 24 hours.

The Italian newspaper says that Rossoneri officials will meet with their Nice counterparts today to apply the finishing touches to the deal.

Lloris, who has won three caps for the French Under-21s, and two for Les Bleus B team, will become the Rossoneri’s first choice between the sticks, ahead of Zeljko Kalac.

The youngster came up through the Nice youth academy and made his debut for his hometown club back in 2005 whilst still a teenager.

Now who is he going to be loaned out to? A 21 year old becoming numero uno choice in his first season from match 1. It just doesn't seem historically accurate.
