The transfer window isn't even open yet ... Everything is being thrown around. Even a 'Drogba+Carvalho+cash=Kaka' BS .. What are you gonna comprehend and what are you gonna let loose ?! The thing is, you guys need to ease off a bit and enjoy the summer (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ... Borriello, Mancini, Flamini, Shevchenko (there might be more, there might not be a Mancin, still ..) etc; these guys would just add the much needed depth to the squad. As for BIG name signings, Zambrotta, Ronaldinho, etc ... They will come through, it's just that it's too early. All I know is that Gilardino will be replaced with a world class striker and a really good center back will be brought in. And if Dida leaves, there will be a replacement. Now who will those replacements be, the club must evaluate, and such things rarely happen overnight.

No he means...he would. If I were a young, upcoming mid-fielder, I'd certainly pick a team that didn't have Gatusso, Pirlo , Seedorf, Kaka and possibly R20. The idea is you want to stand out of a crowd for all the right reasons. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Oops. First misstep of the transfer window. It would seem that Hugo Lloris is about to sign a contract with Lyon. Someone screwed up.

So Braida gave an interview to a radio station in which he said that Eto'o is more useful to Milan than Ronaldinho. He also said that acquiring Eto'o would be harder as more money would be involved. Finally, he said that the Zambrotta deal is basically done and that it was only a matter of fixing the final price. link to article on Sky sports. It reflects what the Italian articles are saying. Not sure whether this is another gambit to get Barca to lower their price for Ronaldinho or not.

The interesting thing about our transfers is that although we had 2 years of (a serious) transfer-silenzio we still keep bringing up comments like no way in Milan, he is shite, not Milan-class, etc. (me included sometimes) I get it, we all want only the best players to be here and defend our colours. But isn't that a bit out of the picture by now? We easily say no to Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Drogba, Mancini, Shevchenko and probably every name someone could bring up. Everytime we bring up a new name, there's like 1/2 of the people here yelling NO. In fact, IMO - all those players are very good and would eventually be an enrichment and supplement to our current squad. But what's the deal? Is there any player in Europe we could all agree for a concensus? Any player that transfer would be supported by 80% of us? Hmh,.. R7 made a good point - he separated 2 missions: a) getting the world class players who bring the flavour and make the core and (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) the additional players for rotation and depth (like Flamini); maybe even c) the kind of player that would give us security in Serie A. That's why I think we could use Shevchenko or Mancini. They are tested in Serie A and that is what we need most - players who won't wait to adapt; players who can easily start again from where they stopped last season. Cause after all, there's no CL next season and the best thing that could happen to us is a solid early league start that would ensure us between 1st and 4th place.

QUOTE Milan To Sell Emerson & Brocchi
AC Milan have put both Emerson and Christian Brocchi up for sale, according to Controcampo.»
Both midfielders have received heavy criticism this season, with their detractors claiming that they were not up to the task of filling in for first team stars such as Andrea Pirlo, Gennaro Gattuso and Massimo Ambrosini.
Emerson only signed for the Rossoneri from Real Madrid last summer, however he has been a huge flop, playing just 15 Serie A games, and starting just six of these.
Brocchi meanwhile made 24 league appearances, 10 of these from the start, but like his team-mate he has also failed to impress.
Controcampo says that the two midfielders, both 32, have been put up for sale, and their place in the Milan squad will be partly filled by the return to the club of Sampdoria youngster Paolo Sammarco.
Brocchi has been linked with a move back to Fiorentina, where he excelled while on loan in 2005/06. So far there have been no takers for Emerson, who has also struggled badly with injuries this past campaign. I'm for Brocchi exiting but I'd rather we keep Emerson. You never know when there's a extra DM needed...

I wouldn't be surprised if this was our squad come the end of summer
GK: Kalac & Fiori - Kalac will be told he can start for the good job he did in the 2nd half of last season.
DF: Oddo, Bonera, Simic, Nesta, Kaladze, Maldini, Favalli, Jankulovski, Zambrotta, Grimi. - That's 10 defenders, Galliani will say we're more than covered at the back, only Zambrotta coming in.
MF: Gattuso, Ambrosini, Seedorf, Flamini, Gourcuff, Brocchi/Emerson (I believe only 1 will leave), Sammarco, Kaka' - Flamini was great for Arsenal last season, we don't need anymore midfielders, that why we can afford to sell one.
FW: Pato, Sheva, Boriello, Inzaghi, Ronaldo, Paloschi. - 6 strikers is enough. Will give us the chance to loan Paloschi out and we'd still have 4 fit strikers, even with R9 injured. Pato is like a new signing as it's his first full season, Boriello is like a new signing and did well last season, Sheva IS a new signing, out big signing of the season. Inzaghi showed that he's still World class at the end of last season, then we have R9 in January who will be like our January purchase, why would we need anyone else?

^^ Gosh. Lots of pessimism. The market hasn't even officially opened yet!
FWIW, I really doubt Grimi will return. He seems happy enough in Lisbon and it sounds as if Sporting want to keep him. As for homegrown talent, we might see Marzoratti return or see Darmian/Bruscagin bumped up from the Primavera. Not sure if Albertazzi is still considered too young (he's 17) but he's an option too.
I also expect more than just Sammarco and Borriello to show up in the first team from former Primavera players. Not sure who it'll be but I believe there'll be 1-2 more than that (this is where we get part of the depth for the league that Fillipo's talking about).
As for the traitor (sorry, I know alot of you like him, but I...don't, after what he did), I'd rather not see him in a Milan jersey again but we'll see. There could be worse fates.
