Galliani Opens The Door For ShevchenkoThe Rossoneri have been hunting Barcelona star Ronaldinho ever since his magic knocked them out of the Champions League in 2006. However, they have not managed to strike a deal with Barcelona. Galliani believes the ‘Dinho deal can still be achieved, but he reveals that Chelsea’s Shevchenko is more likely to arrive. “It’s obvious that we need some strikers given Ronaldo’s injury,†said Galliani. “If Gilardino leaves then someone will have to come in, in that case we will need at least two strikers. “But let me reiterate that there are currently no negotiations for Gilardino. “Shevchenko? His name is likely to go into our possible arrivals list. “Ronaldinho and Zambrotta? Their price is still too high but there is still some time.†The Rossoneri will need to bolster their side in light of their Scudetto commitments next season. The club have recently announced that they will be focusing on domestic titles after putting all their efforts in Europe over the last few years. goal.com

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ May 22 2008, 06:12 PM) Corluka is a good player, but his crossing is poor, Man City had to switch to a 4-5-1 early in the season to use wingers to put the crosses in, just so Garrido and Corluka didn't have to. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) I think he's better at RB than CB, but he'd be another Oddo in my opinion. Great defensively, gets forward well, but the final thing is just not what it needs to be. His crossing is certainly better then Oddo's and his movement is more intelligent. Also, he's much younger then Oddo. Just one season with us would do it. QUOTE I agree with Tennie and about a million others, we should not be looking at these 30+ has beens, we really need to invest in youth especially with regards to Sheva Interestingly, I do not agree. Milan has Paloschi and Pato, more then enough youngsters (for Milan standards). I'm completely sure we need a quality striker around 29-31.

I'm completely sure we need a quality striker around 29-31. I think Paloschi will either return to Primavera or go out on loan. but I agree that we need someone around 30. of course I, like many, would like to have Benzema or Huntelaar, but with EPL's big four and Madrid and Barca, there's no chance for UEFA Cup-bound Milan.

Apparently, transfer agent Bronzetti is in Barcelona today to seal the Zambrotta deal.

Galliani's words make me think that Shevchenko will NOT come while Zambrotta and Ronaldinho will be Milan players next season. QUOTE (Porty @ May 22 2008, 11:41 PM) (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) You sound like you're 5! OK, we'll get you both but you'll be a good boy then, right? Let's go for an ice-cream now.

Yep, that one's been floating around -- but would Milan want something (someone?) in return? I'm also a wee bit dubious of Oddo being sold because of the requirement to have a certain number of primavera plaers in the squad.
New rumor: Abbiati to Palermo (thank God!) so there's room at Milan for a new keeper.

I was inna meeting!
Highlights of Galliani's comments on acmilan.com's italian page: * 1 striker will be acquired. If Gila leaves, 2 will. * Negotiations re: Gila to Fiorentina haven't started but could any time. * Shevchenko could be one of the strikers to arrive * Barca's still asking more than Milan want to pay for Ronaldinho * Galliani admits that there's a 'possibility' that Zambrotta will arrive * Milan won't buy another keeper without selling one of the five it currently has (Dida, Kalac, Storari, Abbiati, and Coppola). * Re: Pippo at the Olympics, as a rule Milan doesn't release the above-23s for the Olympics but the matter can be considered.
