QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ May 19 2008, 04:58 AM) Yup ... Plus he will end his career at Milan, he is turning 31 next season. He is a faithful servant of Milan. I really appreciate the fact that our management treat their players as a family unit but it is not the same with "retirement and old folks home" policy. This sentiment is the problem when it comes to sign a new player and to develop younger players. QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ May 19 2008, 04:58 AM) And as you said, he sacrificed a lot to fit in for Carlo and did very well. He also complained a lot to Carlo and did it very well.

QUOTE Milan To Replace Gattuso With Diarra?AC Milan are ready to replace the outgoing Gennaro Gattuso with Real Madrid’s Mahamdou Diarra, according to La Stampa. (IMG: http://goal.com/images/27778_news.jpg) Gattuso seems likely to leave the Rossoneri, and has already agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich to join them this summer. The 30-year-old will hold talks with Adriano Galliani this week, where the Milan transfer guru will attempt to persuade him to stay. "Mr Gattuso has a great contract and now must let us know what he intends to do, as we did when Sheva wanted to go to Chelsea,†said Galliani. "He has always said, moreover, that he's taken more than he deserves from us, so he must assume his responsibilities and make us understand if he does not want to stay." If these talks are unsuccessful, Milan will allow Gattuso to be sold to Bayern, and according to La Stampa, will try to sign Real Madrid’s Mahamdou Diarra as a direct replacement. The Malian has been tipped to leave the Spanish champions for quite sometime now due to his frosty relationship with Coach Bernd Schuster. Inter Milan had seemed to be the hot favourites to snap up the 26-year-old, however now city rivals Milan are preparing to hijack their deal. Roberto Rossi Goal.com Another DMF? Enh. Not so sure it's reliable, Devillito. The source they're citing is La Stampa -- which is a Turin-based paper owned by the Fiat Group.
That said, if Rino does go, Milan will probably buy another DM. If I had to pick one to get, I'd go for Essien.

According to Mediaset, the (first) meeting between Galliani and Gattuso has taken place. Nothing's been said formally as to how it went. Milannews is saying there's a chance Gattuso will stay.
Also, Seedorf apparently gave an interview to Setanta sports in which he said that Drogba is the kind of player Milan needs.

I don't think Flamini was signed as a direct replacement, Devillito. My impression is that he was signed to provide depth to the midfield -- something Milan need badly.
