There were rumors a few months ago linking RVN with Milan. I wouldn't necessarily be against it, but...well, he wouldn't be my first pick on account of age (over 30), injury history, and the fact that we've already got a very good, though injury prone, box striker in Pippo.

So.
Milan have finished fifth. I think we all agree that reinforcements are an absolute necessity. Here's what I know of the current state of transfer affairs:
OUT Serginho - retire Cafu - retire Dida - ? probable release and move to Cruzeiro Simic - possible move Gourcuff - probable return to France, either on loan or as a permanent transfer Brocchi - possible move to Greece Gilardino - possible move to Fiorentina Gattuso - possible move to Bayern
IN Flamini - confirmed Lloris - reported in both Italian and French press, nothing official yet Zambrotta - widely assumed to be a done deal, nothing official yet Ronaldinho - depends on who you talk to, but seems probable
Who else do we need?
I think we need: * another quality CB * someone who can play the terzino role aside from Zambrotta (terzino - italian for LB/RB) * an attacking midfielder * a GOOD striker
Who would I like to see us get?
CB: Barzagli, Mexes, maybe one of the transfer-listed kids from Man City Terzino: Zapata, maybe young Di Silvestri from Lazio (trade him for oddo?), Santacroce AM: I'd like Montolivo or Aquilani. Deco is a [insert Porty's favorite word here] but if he's available and not ridiculously priced, he'd be a possibility. Striker: Lots of options here. I don't really have a favourite, but would prefer someone of real quality (so...Drogba or RVN over Amauri or Borriello)
What're your thoughts?

QUOTE (kurtsimonw @ May 18 2008, 08:43 AM) I think finishing 5th will stop us from getting certain players. Maybe not all top players, but I'm certain that there will be plenty of guys out there after CL football. this could be a good thing. it could prevnt old players who want to join milan just to win a champions league who are only good for a year or two, now we can focuse on younger talented players who can be long term replacements.
