Ole Hones (Spell) Manager of Bayern Munich had confirmed that there was contact between Bayern and Milan over the sale of Gattuso, but Milan were made it too difficult for them to negotiate.

Ole Hones said of their interest in Gattuso: "It's real, we tried until the end, But we weren't able to take him, the reason ? Milan wrote down a number that was too much, actually more than that!"

I think he'll struggle to ever be a permanent captain, as he's not much younger than Ambro. But he'll captain the side ever now and then when Ambro isn't playing/subbed off.

Yeah i cant see him as no1 captain either. When Paolo retires Ambro becomes Captain and Gattuso probably vice captain

Gattuso fractures wrist in fall! Sunday 7 September, 2008

Another bizarre injury has struck the Azzurri, as Gennaro Gattuso fell into the dug-out and broke his wrist!

The Milan midfielder was taking part in a friendly run-out with the Beretti team of unemployed players at the Gradisca d’Isonzo training ground this afternoon.


He tumbled into the dug-out where the Italian bench was placed, hitting his head and left wrist.


Gattuso has been taken to hospital for X-Rays, as the initial diagnosis is a fractured wrist that could well require surgical intervention.


Even if it is only a bad knock, it is likely that will rule him out of Wednesday’s encounter with Georgia.


It is the latest odd injury to strike the Italy squad during these 2010 World Cup qualifiers.


Fabio Grosso fractured two ribs during a fall in the 2-1 win in Cyprus last night and Alessandro Gamberini dislocated his right shoulder just 60 seconds into the same match.


Gamberini’s shoulder was in such a bad state that he had to be put under general anaesthetic in the local hospital for medics to pop it back into place.
