I dont know about that ... What I do know is that Milan will reinforce. On the Jazeera sports channel, Don Cesear Maldini is one of the presenters, for Serie A.

Before and after every match he answers questions, some which might have been discussed here on the forum, seeing as they are such obvious questions. Don Cesear is active in the Milan community and board. Basically he gives you the insider juicy stuff.

The presenter asked him about Ronaldinho and Zambrotta .. He replied, that the management have already entered into negotiations with more than five players for the coming season. And the outcome is not bound to Milan playing in the champions league or not.

Logically speaking, who would turn down Milan ?! Who ?! Milan is #1 in the world, Milan is on top of the pile of the richest clubs in the world, Milan is one of the top two most prestigious teams in football history. Plus, these players you talk about (Flamini ... ), they would bounce at the chance of wearing a Milan shirt!

Football comes in cycles, even the greatest of the great fall (i.e. Madrid's spell prior to Capello). But the difference is that the great teams never vanish away. Like Bayern, United, Liverpool, Madrid,Milan, Juventus. These are teams that will always remain at the top. Roma, inter, Arsenal, Valencia, etc these teams reach a high level for a certain time, but they rarely stay at that level of greatness.

UEFA cup next season has no bearing in how Milan will conduct it's transfers.

In fact I missed your kind of super optimistic posts for some time! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I hope it's like what you say and Ronaldinho and Zambro and other big names don't think twice about joining us if we're not gonna make it to the CL...

Zambrotta and Dinho sure will increase the quality of first 11 but we need more than them,if we add a wc gk,one cb(not marker one,we need a leader),RB,flamini and one midfield who can part 2 ways of football(aquilani, hamsky, deco, moutinho) would be a fantastic mercato.

I think you under-estimate what it means for players to play in the CL, that's why they move to the bigger clubs in the first place. I think we'll have to pay ridiculous amounts of money, in terms of wages, to get players here.

Alot of it depends on how big Galliani's head is now, after turning down the chance to sign Toni, I think he must start to realise we're in no position to pick and choose who we want anymore.

Arsenal rarely stay at a level of greatness? They're the most consistantly great team in English football in my opinion. They've been in the top flight for nearly 100 consecutive years, they've won the league plenty of times. Liverpool and United won the majority of theres all in a short space of time.

Yep, Lucarelli went to Shakhtar just to play in the CL, and he isnt the exception to rule, plenty of other players have done it/will do it

Galliani wouldnt know talent if it spat at him in the face. Toni was performing miracles at Palermo, he scored against us during one of his final Palermo days. Instead he prefered a washed out Vieri

Galliani needs to show these mid level - lower level clubs more respect. Our relationship with Palermo is virtually broken after he insulted Zamparini, and that has harmed our chances of signing Amauri. If he lost some weight in his head and acted more modestly then we would surely have better relations with a lot more teams in Italy, which in turn leads to us being in a more favourable position to sign said player from said team

EDIT:

@ Paloschi - when you say Hamsky, do you mean Hamisik who plays for Napoli?

You think !?

How about I tell you a fact, the management knows (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

After all, they have been there for 22 years constructing team after team, winning the most titles within the span of that time. And producing the the strongest teams to ever compete in Europe and locally.

For the sake of example, during the golden era of Italian football, the Italian teams invested a mind boggling 250M pounds (mind you, today that would be equivalent to 600M pounds). From English football Serie A attracted Gaza to Lazio, Platt to Juve and Des Walker to Samp. MILAN, spent the most, 50M pounds on Dejan, JPP, and Gigi Lentini.

When Milan turned down Luca Toni, they had Gilardino a player they invested (more than money) their faith into him. Had Toni been bought, Gilardino would have been picking up the balls, if you get what I mean (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Moreover, why are you questioning the management on certain financial decisions ?! They are the experts in this field, so you should not worry (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Then there is the thing about player's moving to BIG clubs, and Milan is as BIG as it gets (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Pato choose Milan over Chelsea, Ronaldinho (will) choose Milan over Chelsea, inter etc ... Sadly though if you take this year as a complete failure (as it is, to an extent), and completely disregard what this current team has done over the span of these six years ... Your clearly not seeing the BIG picture. Which is Milan will bounce back harder than ever next season! Don't take my word for it, history is the teacher (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Then on Arsenal. Where were they before Arsene Wenger ?! in fact, where will they be when Arsene Wenger leaves ?! they have a handfull of local cups and league titles. But that is about it. They play great football, so true !! And I enjoy watching them. But an all time great, not a chance.

p.s. It is illogical to conclude that Galliani, Carlo etc don't know what they are doing. They have been proven their worth, even before MF was even established here! The former has seen Milan rise and Milan fall so many times, he has a blueprint in the back of his head on how football politics work. He wont need any of our advice (sure it's a forum and I wont hold you back from venting, but logically speaking..).

On Carlo, let me give you a brief example on a common fixation you might have with him bringing on a defensive mid when a win is needed or playing two defensive mid fielders. (I watch Don Cesear's comments after every game as he is the most experienced Milan figure available to me)! The presenter asks him the question you all ask; "Why does Carlo insist on playing two defensive mid fielders .. Then even when he is still loosing, he subs a defensive mid fielder with another?" Don Cesear replies: "He was a pupil of Capello, a master tactician in Italian tactics, a defensive mid fielder (at times) is more helpful than an attacking player in certain situations. Seeing as they steal the ball back from the opposition and if they do that then they hold on to the ball longer, which gives then much more chances to attack than the opposition. A tactic that both Lippi and Capello are famous for."

Hence, I conclude that not everything is as black and white as it seems.
