RONALDO: ‘I WILL PLAY AGAIN’

Less than two months since undergoing delicate surgery on his left knee, Ronaldo is continuing to recover quickly and says that his dream of kicking a ball again is getting closer to reality each day.

The AC Milan striker says he is feeling good and has promised he will do all in his power to make a full recovery and repay his colleagues by turning out for the Rossoneri again.

“I’m certain I will play again because football is in my heart,” Ronaldo told calciomercato.it this week.

“I’m so passionate about the game that I’m going to do everything possible to ensure my return. I don’t know how things will work out but my dream is to play for Milan once more.

“The club, my teammates and the backroom staff have all shown their concern for me, but ultimately we’ll have to see how things go.

“If I am still good enough to play for Milan then I will repay the club for all it has done for me,” he pledged.

Ronaldo also spoke about his recovery, which has thus far exceeded the expectations of his doctors and physiotherapists.

“I certainly feel better than I did 40 days ago,” he said. “I can walk better, I just need a stick for support. Now I am beginning a new phase in my recuperation.

“Next week I will go to Paris for another monthly check up and for an ultrasound but I think that everything is going great.

“I know I’ve still got a long road ahead of me and that I need to take it step by step without creating too much expectation,” he added.

Ronaldo could be back early
Saturday 5 April, 2008

Ronaldo could return to the playing field sooner than expected, reveals his personal physiotherapist.

The Milan striker underwent surgery on a severed tendon in his left knee and was not expected to return before an eight-month gap – if he managed to resume his career at all.

“I am the bearer of good news,” smiled Bruno Mazziotti on SportTV. “The results of the tests confirm Ronaldo’s recovery is going well.”

He suffered the devastating injury on February 13 during a 1-1 draw with Livorno and is back in Italy after the surgery in Paris.

“The healing process is at an advanced stage, just as we wanted. The whole team is asking if it is possible for Ronaldo to come back quicker than expected, but we cannot confirm or deny anything yet.

“The important thing is that the results of the tests seem to be very favourable, as the first 45 days after this kind of injury are the most critical.

“This is why we hope his comeback date can be put forward a little bit. Ronaldo is desperate to play football again.”

Ronnie plots recovery route

Injured Milan marksman Ronaldo has outlined his recovery schedule, which may include a spell playing in his native Brazil.

El Fenomeno was ruled out of action for at least nine months after severing a tendon in his knee during the Rossoneri’s game against Livorno in mid-February.

There were fears that the 31-year-old’s career could be over, but after a successful operation in Paris he is on the comeback trail and looking to the future.

“I am working four or five hours per day in the hope of recovery,” Ronaldo revealed in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I want to be able to play football on the beach with my friends and to have a normal life.

“During my last tests in Paris, the doctors gave me the hope and the guarantees that I needed.

“It’s nearly two months since the operation and the knee is already feeling much better.

“I would like to try and play for Flamengo for a few months and then hopefully try and return to Milan.”

It remains to be seen whether Ronnie will ever wear the Diavolo shirt again, as the world champions are expected to make a big-name striking addition this summer to partner Alexandre Pato next term.

Take ur time Ronnie(don't want the board dragging their feet over a striker, and calling R99 our 'winter' transfer)....but for God's sake stop watching those soap operas. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

QUOTE (arivanjj @ Apr 8 2008, 06:18 PM)

so it seems that worldwide, all mcdonald employees have been told to reject giving service if they see ronaldo coming in.

all joking aside, i'm glad he is recovering so well and fast. I hope he returns. He is still one of helluva player. He can undoubtedly change a game with his presence alone.

But still he said months and he said play... how will this happen? Will we let him play on loan or will he not sign a new contract for Milan unless he's fully fit?
