This has been, in general, a pretty lousy season for Milan.

One of the few bright spots this year has been the surprising emergence of Alberto Paloschi. He's come out of nowhere, relatively speaking, and has had an impact every time he's stepped onto the pitch. Clearly he's still got room to grow as a player both techically and physically (and an Italian friend of mine who has seen him play live says that he still looks like a kid even compared to Pato, who's only a few months older), but I am very, very encouraged.

We all expected (okay, some of us hoped) to see great things from one teenager -- and Pato has definitely not disappointed. I doubt any of us expected to see great things from a second. Finally, a primavera player seems to be making the move directly into the first team.

Forza Paloschi! (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/96.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/96.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/96.gif)

forza the school kid! I'm very happy and i'm excited about his growth. He reminds me of inzaghi with more technical skill. Him and pato will lead milan to victory (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

^^^

I think they're school dropouts(No Palo..still goes). Too bad dad my dad wouldn't let me quit school. I coulda been someone important... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/realmad.gif)

I also think it's very vital, that primavera keep showing up. The current balooning of prices for players, is sooner or later going to have an adverse impact. A primavera player is much cheaper, and an excellent option. Not to mention, more kids come this way.

Now if we could only see some promising people walk in from the mid-field and the defence.

(from acmilan.com's english language page)

MILANELLO – These are the declarations of Alberto Paloschi during the program ‘Milanello oggi’ which was on ‘Milan Channel’ at 1pm:

"These is a bit of disappointment for not managing to win the three points last night against Sampdoria. For how things went, a draw would have gone well, but unfortunately we did not manage.

“One of my characteristics is that of believing until the end, believing on every ball until the ball goes out or else the goalkeeper catches it.

“I arrived at Milan when I was eight years old. It was a surprise for me because a call-up letter arrived at my club by the Rossoneri’s club together with Atalanta. I did not expect it and in the end I chose Milan because it would have given me more possibility to play.

“Personally I consider the Primavera as my team. With the young Rossoneri’s formation we started out with the objective of taking something back home, but unfortunately the Coppa Italia and the Torneo di Viareggio did not go well. Now we hope in the Italian league.

“Last night between the first and second half, Pippo Inzaghi suggested to me to play between the two central defenders. His suggestions are always correct and very precious for me.

“Amongst my goals, the one I remember with most affection is the first one in Serie A against Siena. It’s the one that when I re-watch it, it gives me the most emotions. Then scoring at San Siro is surely a great emotion which I will never forget. This year I did not expect to many games with the first team, also because at the start of the season I also found difficulty with the Primavera formation. Then I made an effort, I worked a lot and little by little the first satisfactions arrived.

“Against Lazio I also played on the wing. It’s a role in which I find myself well and which I had already experimented with the Under 17. For the good of the team, one must adapt himself in any role.”

During the program, Gianluca Temelin, Cremonese attacker and very respected by Alberto, called in.

“For me Temelin is like Pippo Inzaghi. He’s a player who manages to always score as soon as the ball goes to him inside the penalty area and he’s always ready. This is one of the most important things for us attackers.”

Yesterday, Paloschi got the 'Niccolo Galli Memorial Award', given in memory of Giovanni Galli's son. Here's what he said at the awards ceremony in Florence:

'I remember my first game in Serie A this year, when I went in and scored against Siena. I remember having slept very little and thinking of that moment. I'm happy that Milan has reached Champions League qualification, the most positive thing about this peirod is that now our fate is in our hands and it depends on us and we as a team know what to do the last two games. The strength and the difference between us and our adversaries is the team: Inzaghi is a phenomoneon and remains a symbol in the rossoneri jersey. He was great winning the derby and reaching fourth place. Fiorentina has done a lot up til now and they won't give up until the season's over. I think we have paid in fatigue for the many games we've played. My future is definitely at Milan, I don't care if I don't play much; I'd be able to learn from the champions who are in the team.'
