“It was a surprise he turned up like that,” smiled Ancelotti. “It’s an interesting look. Having said that, if he were my son and had that haircut, he wouldn’t be allowed to sit at the dinner table.”

Ronaldo Tells Fans Not To Worry

(IMG:http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20080123/capt.e2f9ec7f0a004d42bffe10bef57fd080.italy_soccer_brg102.jpg)

The former Real Madrid striker is determined to make a quick return from his calf injury which he sustained last week.

The number 99 has not been able to show his best form at the Rossoneri after suffering from various injuries since signing for the via Turati outfit in January 2007 from Real Madrid. Although he has worked hard on the training ground, he has not managed to get back to full fitness.

“It’s not like the other time, it’s just a little strain which is slowing me down a little, it’s nothing to worry about,” said Ronaldo.

The striker is so confident that he is hoping to return to the side for Sunday’s game against Fiorentina in week 21 of the Serie A championship.

“I hope I am there for the Fiorentina game," he declared. "Milan has a lot of tough games coming up so I want to be available. We have already made mistakes this season and so we cannot make anymore.”

“I still feel like a player, I still feel useful, I hope I can give a lot more, to score plenty and to play well with consistency. What I need to do? I need to win the Champions League.”

Ronaldo also revealed that he hopes he can renew his contract with the Rossoneri.

“I still have to work hard to earn this contract. I certainly don’t see any problems,” concluded the two time World Cup winner.

Ronaldo injury reassurance Tuesday 29 January, 2008

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ronaldo has reassured fans he only has a slight muscular twinge and hopes to play against Fiorentina this weekend.

The Milan star was forced out of the 2-0 victory over Genoa after picking up another thigh problem, but insists it is nothing compared to his earlier injuries.

“It was just a stiffening of the muscle,” pointed out the Brazilian. “This wasn’t like the other times when I felt a real pulling sensation.

“It just makes me slow down a little bit, but there is nothing to worry about. I hope to be back this weekend, as there are many games now and Milan need everyone’s help, but only if there are no risks.”

Ronaldo has only played three official games this season due to a series of setbacks and has no intention of repeating that error.

“We made mistakes already this season, so we cannot and will not make them again. There is no time left for that.”

Alexandre Pato has filled in admirably, scoring a brace in the victory over Genoa on Sunday, but the ‘veteran’ has lost none of his enthusiasm.

“I still feel like a player and know I can be of use to the team. I hope to give so much more, to score many goals, to play well, be consistent – the real thing I’m lacking – and to win the Champions League.”

Due to his injuries, Ronaldo is yet to make a single European appearance for the Rossoneri, as he was cup tied when he joined from Real Madrid in January.

Il Fenomeno also had some advice for teammate Alberto Gilardino, who has dropped further down the pecking order at San Siro.

“Each of us can have good moments and difficult ones, but we have to get it into our heads that the main thing is that the team does well.

“Milan had a terrible start to the season and now we are getting back on track with help from everyone, including Gilardino, who came off the bench and scored a decisive goal against Udinese. He took centre stage and we were all happy for him.

“There will be other days in which he is not as happy, but he has to get into the team mentality and be content that we won, even if he didn’t give the contribution he wanted to. It happened to me many times and will do again. The important thing is to put Milan above any individual needs.”
