AC Milan are set to extend their sponsorship deal with Adidas until 2016, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

The contract with the giant German sports manufacturer will earn the Rossoneri €10.5m a season, meaning that between now and 2016 the club will receive €84m.

This figure is somewhat less than the €140m that Inter will earn with Nike over the next 10 years, but it still represents an impressive deal.

The money that Milan will make will be largely used to buy a series of young players.

This Sunday 18-year-old wonderkid Alexandre Pato will make his debut for the club, but without the Brazilian the Rossoneri have the highest average age of Serie A: 31 years.

At the beginning of next season Milan aim to cut this median to 28 by offloading a number of veterans.

The 39-year-old Paolo Maldini will retire, while Cafu (37), Serginho (36), Ba (35), Fiori (38) and probably Dida (35) will all be released.

Ronaldo, who turns 32 later this year, also has much work to do if he is to convince the club to renew his contract that runs out at the end of the season.

-------------------------------

Inter earn 14m a season
Barca is already earning 15m, but will soon sign a contract 30m/season.

and Milan 10m (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) what is happening with these contracts??

^^

I know, I've been major depressed since the news came out. We should introduce competition in the team for sponsors as well. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Bring in Puma...that ought to light a fire under the other Dassler's @ss.
And the Puma Azzuri jersey was pretty cool.

Of course they won't invest on a team that plays for the 4th spot in the league. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Ex: Check out Sevilla's contract with Joma... (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Madrid and Man Utd are the ones with the biggest contracts I think.
Inter... maybe if they confirm their new deal with nike. Same for Barcelona. Bayern have a top deal with adidas too, if I'm not mistaken.

If you don't invest you won't get anything back.

Something's wrong with us... we're the number one club in the world but we earn as if we're the number ten or something. maybe it's time to switch to Nike? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

For me Adidas = football while Nike = corporate BS.

Manu have the highest turnover in the world and the most fans, that is why they have such a big contract. I think merderid are the second highest.

I agree with the first part though in that if we started to invest then perhaps we would reap the rewards. I think the term is 'speculate to accumulate' (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Not true.
QUOTE
Manchester United have moved to the top of the UK's football financial league after reporting record turnover for 2006/07 of £245m ($481m), a 27% rise.

That puts them ahead of the £200.8m reported by Arsenal for last season, but behind Real Madrid of Spain, whose turnover was £263m for the same period.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/7180767.stm

And Madrid have more fans worldwide too I believe.

I don't look at it that way. But I prefer Adidas to Nike, anyday.
