VDV wants Juve, Diego would be ideal IMO Brazilian or not.

I think VDV can play more in Seedorfs position than Diego!

So, I'd go for VDV! Coz Diego would find it difficult to play with Kaka on the team.

IMO VDV has never really lived up to expectation, when he was at Ajax he seemed destined for great things but he never really lived up to the hype. From what I hear Diego is playing well and scoring regularly in the Bundesliga.

So is Van der Vaart. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) And I do watch the Bundesliga games each weekend. If I were going to nick someone from Bremen, i'd probably pick Torsten Frings. We need another effective DM.

Let's agree to disagree on this one and move further transfer discussion to the transfer board, shall we?

Are you being serious?

Kaladze was one of the better defenders out there, he had a very solid match. Tell me who made that poor clearance that led to Cambiasso's goal, Maldini or Kala
*

i dint see the match, but in general thats what i think of kaladze, he's a good sub and i have no problem with him starting ever so often but i dont think he deserves to be the no.2 CB, especially with maldini retiring we need a world class CB to play along side nesta.

Before the game, the Merda players formed a tunnel and applauded the Milan players out onto the pitch as a congratulations for winning the CWC. It was a nice touch.

The picture looks so genuine. Like theres actual respect.

We missed out on a blatant penalty. Would have been hard for the merda to come back from there. But they were probably the better team.

Both goals we conceded were terrible defensive errors. How cruz managed to get a shot through 3 defenders is beyond me. And once it nutmegged (kaladze I think), dida was in trouble. Even though it was near post and keeper shouldn't be beaten there, it would have taken some quality keeping to keep it out.

Obviously the second goal was terrible, ordinary clearance by god into a very dangerous area. Followed by absolutely disgraceful keeping. We may as well have had a bin in the middle of the goals. At least it would have been saved.

This milan team just doesn't have what it takes in italy. Probably make a good run at consecutive european titles, but its so disappointing to be out of the scudetto race before even playing each team once. The team needs a massive shake up, same old story, senior players are just coasting since there spots are never in jeopardy. Some major changes are needed, and the same story will begin to get sung again. Hopefully pato can inject some motivation into this team.

3 derby defeats in a row, that hurts. Hats off to inter, there heading in the right direction.

the funny thing some hold on to the old attitude towards inter, at how they screw up all the time that their losers well that doesnt change the fact thatl if things remain the same in a matter of years they will be 2nd most successful team in italy, ahead of us... scary thought no?

you see thats a big part of our problem, you cant look at one game to judge a player. even if he had a decent game, overall he's been below average since last year. what does this game have to do with it, did i saw he had a bad game? no if you read my comment you would see i'm talking milan problems overall. oh and if a competent CB came in that would force kaladze to do well when he's on so he can get back into the starting 11. we are reaping what we sowed, we have 0 competing for the first team and carlo will always pick his favorite players ahead of the others.

i mean look at dida, us showing confidence in him, has it helped the team? no it's making things worse.

To be honest, I don't think any of our defenders played that well, yes, even Nesta. How they allowed Cruz to hold on to the ball in the box and turn everybody to get the shot in for the first goal was quite pathetic really.

I can't really pick anyone out who played even half decent for us, I may even say Serginho was our best player!

I don#t know how many times we'll hear excuses about the bad refereeing - it was fine - and that we don't care about the league - which is just unfair on the fans, especially in the derby - but Inter are a better team than us, times have changed, we're no longer the best team in our own city, forget the World.

Yeah, but that wasn't a penalty, that was a soft shot from 25 yards out, he should have had that covered easily

say whatever you want on this one but these defensive errors created surprise situations that are not of the ordinary. Many keepers get beat on the near post and I think the Maldini error was so pitiful that I blame him over Dida for this one. Maldini has not done much in the past 2 years but run off his reputation and the fact that most people watch the Champions League over the scudetto.

The game was pretty much the summation of the whole first half of the season, poor performances and inconsistent play with flashes of brilliance. Inter were much more physical and strong all around and have proven consistent results through the season. Our forwards are garabage. Inzaghi is the only one worth a damn. With Galliani we have 7 forwards including Kaka, Seedorf, and people on loan. Maybe he should throw MVB in there and Bierhoff. Gilardino is worthless and has proven he cannot play for a top club like Milan, I could care less if he works hard, you cannot count on this player. He is so easily read by a solid defense that Matarazzi and Cordoba were just sitting there letting him trip over himself and make dramatic gestures all the time. To put all this pressure on Pato is a weak strategy, you can expect him to make some impact but come on, he's 18. Fabergas and C. Ronaldo took time to develop into top youth players.

The problem with Milan is that the Club World Cup is a joke trophy and all it does is gives fuel to the Milan management in how to let bad players stay on the bench and no redesign this club. Serie A and Champions league together constitute the value of a club. Milan this season have been destroyed in scudetto. I would give them a 0. They had the easiest group in the CL and still struggled but we'll see. Remember that when we play Arsenal, we are playing a team that is not only a top team in the CL but a top team in the Prem, not a team that just focuses one competition over the other.

From what I saw today, this team needs to change, both in terms of immediate effect and long term.
A new keeper should be 1st. priority, the same thing is happening with Dida as with Lehmann. Some good replacements would be Kalac, Rensing, Akinfeev, Abbondanizieri or Frey.
Secondly, you need more defensive options. Again, replacement options are Pasqual, Lahm, Lucio and Chivu.
Milan should keep Gattuso and Pirlo in midfield, and drop Seedorf to the bench.
Some exciting signings would be David Silva, Vicente, Jesus Navas or super-talented Nuri Sahin.
In attack, keep Kaka as AM/SS, but bring in a new a new striker, like Villa, Nihat, D. Milito or Morientes.

As for a new manager...Lippi is still on the market, unless he wants to keep on fishing tuna forever...

"We are World Champions, today we played in a way that legitimated this title and no defeat can take away my smile and cancel this state of happiness.
Of course it's a disappointing defeat, it came in particular circumstances, with many unfavorable episodes. The Inter players did very well, they also honored our World Cup victory in a very original and unexpected way. It was only too bad that Ambrosini was not treated very well by the fans.
We are a more agile, more technical team compared to Inter, we tried to win the game with those qualities.
With the new year our objective will be to earn as many points as possible until 20 february and try to arrive at the Champions League eighth finals with a better position in the standings. Pato will become part of our group, let's hope Ronaldo will be back soon too, considering that today he was authorised to run again.
Regarding the Dida episode, it can happen that a goalkeeper makes a mistake, I don't like to put all the responsibility on a single player, he remains impermeable and we still have complete faith in him."

-Ancelotti

all i know if carlo continues with his ignorant /"lets go easy on the lads" outlook of things he can leave along with dida. i can understand he's gotta go easy on them every so often but after 2 years of below par football in the league it's time to stop sugar coating.

umm how are we more swift than them? and inter have more technique, besides kaka and pirlo, guys like ambro, gattuso, inzaghi, gila have noo technique.

your absolutely right. i agree with everything you said. i got a few points of my own.

kaka was pure class today! Nobody was capable of marking him, with the exception of javier zanetti. he turned away from materazzi with ease. Only way matrix contained him was by following him. and it was comical watching kaka single handedly juke Walter Samuel so hard that Samuel injured himself trying to keep up. BTW - that injury looked bad, and samuel was one of the best defenders in europe this year. its not great that he got hurt, but i mean damn kaka messed his day up with those cuts and it was somewhat funny to see. Anyways, Did anyone else notice how towards the end of the game we REFUSED TO SUPPLY KAKA THE BALL? He was dropping back so far desperate to orchestrate and we simply passed around him! we passed to oddo on the wing..and oddo was awful. I cant remember one good ball he put in. I cant understand that.

Secondly, Pirlo had a magnificent game, but he really F'd up when he tried to dummy that pass right at the 18. He had soooo much space he coulda taken a touch, taken a ****..and still had a goal.

Lastly, I can't fully blame Dida. The first one he never saw! there were three defenders around cruz, and kaladze completely blocked Dida. Dida had the time from where that shot was taken to the time it got to him to react. We all know thats pretty impossible of a save from that distance with that powerful a shot, low and hard. That second one was heartbreaking and he shoulda saved that, but he couldnt expect that turnover to happen. It all happened so fast, he just reacted to the first thing he saw, and the ball knuckled..It was a tough shot, ive seen players like juninho and even our own pirlo give keepers FITS with balls that are right at them.

I think we coulda beaten inter today but Carlo and management is at fault, none of our players.

management's fault.
- we need new flanks (oddo/paolo cant attack and cafu/serginho/janku can't defend)
- new central midfielder..seedorf isn't pacy, and kaka needs someone to play at his pace. Image if we had 2 kaka's in midfield..nobody would be able to stop that pace/creativity. We all know how hindsight is always 20/20..but did anyone see Julio Baptista today scoring and basically single-handedly slicing up barca? Im sad to say but for all the apprehension in hearing about our signing him..he seems ideal! he's big and strong to shrug off tackles, a skilled passer, and possess a versatile, powerful shot. Seedorf isn't cut out for 90 minutes anymore. He needs to adopt the Rui Costa role...which leads me to my next thought.

carlo's fault.
- he really is too stubborn, and today was it couldn't have been more obvious. Change tactics! Milan were tired and dominated today in the second half - outmuscled and outpaced. He offers no tactical variety..There is no way Jose Mourinho would have allowed Kaka, our only player capable of winning us matches at will, to disappear so easily.

Partly Carlo's fault, partly Galliani's fault because Carlo has no depth to change tactics drastically.

anyways..the dead horse has been beaten and buried. Kaka was getting so visibly frustrated at the end of the game...he clearly wanted the ball, and wanted the win, wanted the initiative, and had definitely showed he was capable of it today as he sliced and diced whenever he had the ball...and i think that if he continues to be frustrated like he was today, those England/Spain offers will look more tempting.

Anyways, im frustrated, but knowing the nature of the beast..well come out and whip arsenal's ***, and sit pretty until our next major serie a falling out..

Did you see his positioning in the first goal?? That was one of the big mistakes I'm always saying he's doing, it's just not obvious every time...
