Milan Eye Up Amauri

The agent of Palermo striker Amauri has confirmed that Milan are interested in signing his client but says there are also two other big European clubs sniffing around.

Amauri has not been at his best this season after recovering from a serious injury obtained last season. The ex-Chievo hitman hit eight goals in his first 18 Serie A matches last campaign and was winning the plaudits of the whole peninsula.

However a serious knee injury picked up in December against Siena put the player out for eight months. The 27-year-old has since returned and Milan are said to be lining up a move in order to bolster their forward-line.

“Milan are not the only side who are chasing him as there are also two other important European clubs who are interested,” Amauri's agent, Mariano Grimaldi noted.

“It is also true that I will be in Milan over the next few days, but let me be clear about this – Palermo come first for the player right now.

“We have a good relationship with President Maurizio Zamparini and if the club find themselves in the Champions League next season then there will be no problem in continuing the rapport.”

Zamparini recently admitted that he is powerless to let Amauri go at some point in the near-future.

“It will be difficult to keep hold of Amauri if he repeats his level of performance from last year,” the fiery President admitted.

It appears to me he's nothing special. there's no guarantee he can solve our goal-scoring problem. he's got an awful goal-scoring record btw.

Drogba's the man!

Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini insists that Brazilian striking star Amauri won’t leave the Stadio Renzo Barbera for less than £20m.

The ex-Chievo man has been winning admirers with his ruthless finishing and has been strongly linked with Milan as the Rossoneri struggle to find the net.

“Amauri isn’t for sale and I wouldn’t want to sell him,” Zamparini told Politica nel Pallone.

“It would take a fee similar to the one Liverpool paid for Fernando Torres. I don’t think that Amauri is any less of a player than Torres.

“A Palermo side in the Champions League will need him and I don’t want to repeat what happened to Luca Toni.

“When Toni decided he wanted to leave I begged Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani to sign him so he wouldn’t go to one of our rivals, but instead he went to Fiorentina.

“It doesn’t matter anyway because I think that Milan have other targets. Maybe they will go for another Riccardo Oliveira
.”

Toni ....

what does he mean by another Ricardo Oliveira?

From this, it doesn't seem like he likes Galliani. I think he's basically calling him an idiot. (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

When Toni left Palermo for the Viola we still had Sheva, Pippo, and were going all out for Gila then.

Toni to Fiorentina and Gila to Mila happened before this forum existed. Forget that, we could have signed him this summer easily.

Is he seriously comparing between Torres and Amauri? (IMG:http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)

Hahaha, great comparison.

In that case we should buy amauri and swap him for torres.

Zlatan and torres, two huge players we missed out on.

We didn't miss out on Zlatan per se. We wanted him, but for once it wasn't our fault.

He couldn't wait till the calciopoli verdict, and Inter swooped.

And Torres, I'll be honest hasn't impressed me much. He's already been injured twice, and has scored a few goals. But I think it fair to say, that Berbatov made a bigger impression in his debut season.

Oh and they've said Amauri is not going anywhere for less than 29 mill Euros. Guess that'll be a relief.
