QUOTE (Rossoneri7 @ Sep 27 2007, 03:15 AM) Even if they do pass the group stage (as I predict Celtic will) ... Whoever they will meet will knock them out. They just don't stand a chance in the CL. I would love to label them as the black horse, but realistically speaking they lack a lot. I don't think Celtic will. From what I have seen this season from them ain't convinced me. Shakhtar has a better chance IMO. About Sevilla, it's about timing. Now they are bad form, bad in February/March it can be complitely different story. Of course they won't win the trophy but capable do some damage. For example last season, Lyon played great early on, but were very weak in winter. With Milan it was the other way around. In CL besides experience ,of course, you gotta be on your top when it counts - spring.

It is their first time in the CL, it's a new environment, a new competition. Experience does count, if not in the players then most definitely in the coach !! Lyon played several editions of the competition to start causing others trouble ... As I said, I would love to label then the dark horse, but they do lack something to go the distance in this competition. Maybe next yr or the yr after that they will prove a point, but now. Again IMO and it is all really up in the air right now .. Celtic and Shakhtar ... Did that game finish in a draw ?! I don't know they both are good teams, I can't really choose between them, but considering Celtic made it through in the past, I would give them the nod to do it again ..

I said that of course experience is important, but when they are inform they can cause trouble to many teams. It's not like they gonna win the whole thing, but with players that they have and with a good draw, quarter final is possible. Uefa cup is surely not as good but still they won it twice ,playing good and now they are taking the next step. The Puerta death influenced them a lot and after some time we would see a much better game from them. Shakhtar won 2:0 (could have been much more) and in a good form right now, while Celtic struggling.

Hey, the Beticos were absolutely amazing after Puerta died. From club president to players to fans. They've earned my respect even though of the city teams, I still prefer Seville.

I do respect them a whole lot more because of it, but on-field, I still hate them. Madrid haven't overly-dominated or anything. (IMG: http://cyrus.medialayer.net/~m1ke/milanfan.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

Barcelona are doing better without R20's flashy tricks... pivotal football has always been the way to go! Now go sleep with your golden ball, Mr. Buck Teeth!

Messi is magnificent... it's not just his goals and assists, he's gone back and saved his team twice tonight with sliding tackles!!
edit:
Barcelona 3-0 Atletico Messi, Deco, Xavi
R. Madrid 2-0 Rec. de Huelva Ruud, Higuain
