God, I can't believe we lost. Would have preferred being ***** by a seagull.

I knew we didn't have any real chance in CL, we were going to get eliminated ultimately, but not in this round, just not this English team with those commentators.

Good game. Clinical Robinho, lol !

I felt like Ibra wasn't happy about his substitution. I understand his frustration as he deserved to score at least a goal, but then again he was the one complaining about being tired.

Anyway, he is making so much sacrifice each game. Kudos to him.

Looks like it's Emanuelson of Ajax for left-back after all. From what I know, he's more of a midfielder and he's not good defensively.

QUOTE (KillerMax @ Jan 20 2011, 10:06 PM) *
Now Merkel was impressive, wasn't he. He looks a very solid player. I like his style of play. No none-sense, strong and with good vision and understanding. Looks like Seedorf has to start playing more of an off-field role for Milan from next season on. I would like to see him as a director. When does his contract run out?

Seedorf is a free player by the end of this season. But I think he still wants to play.

I knew Merkel was a good player, yet he surprised me in this match. I mean, one goal and an impressive assist says a lot.

Where was Strasser by the way?

Now who says Seedorf should play ahead of Merkel?

There was a quarrel between Gattuso-Ibra and Pato in the tunnel and dressing room. They wanted Pato to put more effort and be more involve in the game. Pato continued to play an invisible second half nonetheless.

I don't know what is Pato's problem on away fixtures.

What a horrible game! What a toothless Milan. We barely made two or three half chances all game. We needed a moment of magic from Ibra again.

Players should have put more effort, too. Seriously, I was wondering if they were saving energy.

In short, we didn't play football.

Still don't understand what any of you see in Merkel, he's just not that good, Seedorf would still be in over him for me, at least until the other mids return

He's just 18!

-

Anyway, if Seedorf plays, then he should start behind the attackers and nowhere else. He's just horrible when he tries to imitate Pirlo in a deeper role. But he plays descent enough behind the strikers.

So with our injuries in midfield in mind, I rather see even the inexperienced Merkel in Pirlo's place rather than Seedorf. At least he's young and have a excuse if he misplace half of his passes!

-

Seedorf is a legend. He is still a good player but he just can't play in a deeper role anymore for any reason that is.

Guys I'm a little confused here. Can Cassano play in CL or not?!

I thought he can't but this article from football-italia says he can.

Looks like those who only played in early stages can still play for another team.

I want to see Robinho play. I think the best thing is to stick with 4-3-3 but Allegri must use the right players in their right positions. Boateng in wings is just crazy. Robinho should play even if he is not completely fit. In every press conference Allegri says that he should have had more time to work with the team so new players could adapt to their roles and every time he says we have to improve but how in the world you can improve if you're changing your line-up every game? Playing Gattuso is another mystery which needs to be solved.

But IMO the most important thing is to play Antonini and Zambrotta in FB positions. all other options there are completely useless.

I also agree on playing Pirlo in front of two defensive midfielders. He can be more like Sneider that way.

QUOTE (shevchenko_007 @ Sep 25 2010, 02:04 AM) *
I would like to see boateng playing on ronnie's side, i think they would link up well together and ronnie will appreciate his energy and use of space, unlike slowdorf (who i think is killing ronnie's spirit)

Bad idea. Boateng is our only runner who joins the attack line very well. So he can use Ronaldinho's long balls like he did against Auxerre. Playing him next to Ronaldinho will neutralize this threat. And the only positive thing about Seedorf right now is that he has good chemistry with Ronnie IMO.

Anyway if Boateng plays in midfield he runs around the pitch very well, but Allegri must play him in HIS position.

He will come. Galliani is trying to do everything he can and pay the minimum. Are you unhappy because Barca is gonna end up with a small sum?

Well, it's a mystery to me, cause their loss - our gain.

Selling Flamini is a good idea imo. He didn't really impress during pre-season games. He was not even a first team player all these years in Milan. He never became the same player he was in his last year in Arsenal. And he earns a crazy sum as wage which is too much comparing to his level of play.

Also, our three man midfield would look like this : Ambro - Pirlo - Boateng. The rest of midfielders are substitutes. Merkel and Strasser can play a few games, too.

So really, we don't need the man. I hate Ibra myself, but I want Milan to actually win again! and we can't win with Flamini and Huntelaar but we can do it with Ibra.

I remember the meeting with sponsers, Berlusconi said he would spend his money on a champion who can make a difference to Milan. I believe Ibra is the one.

I'm curious about Robinho!

He's good and he's young.

Now my first choice is Ibra ofcourse, but I can't help it, Robinho on loan would be great (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

+ Defense (very much improved)
+ Boateng (he seems very useful)
+ Nesta (back to his best)
+ Inzaghi (super goal)
+ Roma (surprisingly good)
+ Abate (even though we concede from his side, he is seriously better than last year)
+ Kids (flashes of talent)

- Seedorf (great assist but gave away too many balls)
- Huntelaar (no confidence at all)
- 4-3-1-2 (it's just useless)

Why would Barca want Boriello? And I'd rather we keep him and hand over Huntelaar

Agreed.

After we signed Ibra, Milan must sell Huntelaar, Kaladze and Jankulovski as soon as possible. Then we're good to go.

I assume that is including Zlatan seeing he was in that squad. Well, then I would go for:

Ronaldinho, Ibrahimovic, Pato
Ambrosini, Pirlo, Boateng
Antonini, T.Silva, Nesta, Zambrotta
Abbiati

#12 Amelia, #13 Sokratis #14 Yepes #15 Flamini #16 Seedorf #17 Verdi #18 Borriello

I'll go with this, too. An all round excellent line up.

Yup, Allegri said it too.

In the conference he said this too :

To conclude Massimiliano Allegri said: "Nesta and Pato will be back with the group on Monday. Mourinho? No, I won't miss him. I might miss my daughter, I might miss a beautiful woman, it would be serious if I missed him, though."

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Looks like our coach has a funny side, too. I like it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

--------------------------

Where is Verdi? is he still injured?

Based on preseason games, I like Verdi more than Odu because somehow he reminds me of Sheva. He should get stronger physically, though.
