MILAN ARE hopeful they can hijack Marco Verratti from the hands of rivals Juventus.

Marco Verratti was the surprise call-up in Cesare Prandelli’s provisional Euro squad: while players like Milan’s Alberto Aquilani were left out, the Serie B midfielder found space and may feature in the 2012 Euro.

The 19-year-old is having a sensational season with Pescara who are fighting for promotion to Serie A. Verratti has shown qualities this year that made people believe he’s the true heir to maestro Andrea Pirlo.

Juventus are believed to be leading the race for Verratti who is also a fan of Antonio Conte’s team but according to Il Pescara, Milan and Genoa have also joined the race for the player. The price of the player is no less than €10 million and according to the report, Milan are willing to invest €12 million in the youngster.

Milan have already invested a massive fee in signing a Serie B sensation last season – El Shaarawy. They paid €10 million for half of him so it’s not off the table that Milan will agree to spend such amount.

Ganso isn't even 1/3 of what Pirlo is now but he'll develop into a monster in a few years.

I'm curious. Italy is a little different. What's gonna happen if they put a man on him. Actually strangle him they way they would do to Pirlo. He looks like a static playmaker to me.

His passing might be out of the world, but if they shackle him, he might turn out to be a fifth wheel.
