Wait, you wouldn't pay for Bale???? Are you serious? Maybe not 60 Million but this kid is easily worth 30-35 Mil. He is young and extremely talented. He can take on any world class defense on is own (he proved it against Inter and Chelsea this year). He is extremely fast, has an eye for goal and his crosses are I would say are 90% accurate, that is just insane. Just imagine theses passes and crosses getting to Ibra/Pato/Binho and even Inzaghi.I personally would love to see him wearing the Milan jersey!!!!

SINCE a few weeks ago, Milan’s strategy for the mercato was unveiled. Most of Allegri’s and Galliani’s plan has taken, form and the needs or lacks our squad had this past season have started to be filled. There’s only a few details to be solved, some not that important, and another one that has the attention of all rossoneri all over the world : Mr X.

Now, there have been many many names linked to the rossoneri, some very fantasy-like, some more realistic names, although with Galliani most of us have learned that even a rumour can become a reality if Galliani is in the picture. So, we’ll review some of those names and their qualities.

Here’s “the list” of players that Milan has been linked with:


Kwadwo Asamoah : Young, strong physique, good technique and tactically educated. He has been one of the unsong heroe for both Udinese and the Ghana National squad performing in almost all matches for both teams. He is a player like Van Bommel, whose greatest abilities are not perceived by many, but needed by all. He could not only play for Milan on the left next year but he could also take Van Bommel’s role when he leaves Milan.

Gareth Bale : Young, great technique, incredible speed and verticality. He has been one of the biggest threats, if not the biggest, of the Tottenham squad. Ha has been a key player for them, not only in the EPL but also in the CL. Do not let his unimpressive performance against Milan fool you, he is a great player who can cause some very serious damage on the left. However, his defensive skills leave a lot to desire, he is a great winger but as a Mezz’alla, I could see him causing some problems on the left, specially since Taiwo isn’t a great defender either.

Yann M’Vila : Young, fast, intelligent and mature. M’Vila is by far one of my favourite players of Ligue 1, he is a holding midfielder that can play from “Box to Box”. His passing is quite accurate and his decision are most of the time smart and don’t causes his team any troubles.He might not be as defensive as other options, however, for the mezz’alla he fits perfectly. Another advantage, is that Rennes are not asking a humongous price for him, around 15 million should be enough for a 20 year old that has a lot to offer, but more important, a lot of room to improve.

Fans’ favourite, Cesc Fabregas : Mature, experienced, great technique, really smart. Anyone with two eyes and a little bit of knowledge about football knows he is a great player. I actually used to think that he wouldn’t fit in Allegri’s squad, but I came into my senses and realized that he is a good fit, not perfect however. And the only two issues I have with Fabregas are that he is too injury prone and that he’ll eventually want to join Barcelona, so that means that we might have to replace him after all.

Javier Pastore : Young, skillful, great technique and vision of the game. Pastore is one of the greatest prospects in all Europe, and while some might say that he’s better suited for the trequartista role, I believe that he could also play in the CMF position on the left. Whit a little defensive tutoring he could become effective in defense and a threat in offense for our side. However, with many clubs linked to the player and Zamparini’s unexpected reactions, it’s hard to know and to belive that he will land in Milan. Only time can tell.

Erik Lamela : Young, slick and fast, great technique and vision. This character is probably one of the most interesting on the list, but it’s also one of the most unknown. I haven’t seen him enough times to have a true opinion on him. Amthough I can say that, from what I’ve seen, his style reminds me of a certain Brazilian boy we all love : Kakà. He could be great for a trequartista role or even as a second striker, but I don’t think he could give his best at the mezz’alla position. Again, I really haven’t seen much of him to know exactly all of his characteristics, maybe some of you can enlighten me on this subject.

Paulo Enrique “Ganso” : Young, fantastic technique and vision, tricky and smart. Ganso surely has been one of the biggest topics of this year for all rossoneri, and while many praise him and think that he is the solution, I think it’s better if we just lay back and see what happens with this guy. I do believe that he would be a great asset to our team and even if he didn’t play in a CMF role I think he could solve many problems. However, right now he’s in the middle of many spotlights : is he joining Milan? is he joining Inter? Is he staying in Brazil ? etc. Right now his thoughts, I fear, might not be well organized, and if he takes a decision he might regret it later, remember he’s still very very young.

Marek Hamsik : Mature, smart, very technical and has a great vision. I’ve been a Napoli fan since they were promoted back to Serie A, and I remember that Hamsik has always been a great player. In Allegri’s system I think he would fit almost perfectly, he even has a little bit of attitude which is sometimes necessary to run the midfield. Only two issues with him, the first one regarding Napoli, who I don’t really think want him to leave. The second one is that Berlusconi already said he wasn’t going to go after him. I think we might see him in the future wearing red and black, but I think its unlikely to happen this season.

Rafael Van der Vaart : Very mature, good passer, polyvalent and has good vision of the game. I think that he is a good fit as well, I thought last year that Milan should have bought him after he left R. Madrid. He would help in many areas, he can play from a DMF position to a second striker with almost the same efficacity. He still has about 4 or maybe 5 years of good if not great football in him. The problems are that he is kind of injury prone, and I really don’t think that Spurs will let him go.

Bastian Schweinsteiger : Very mature and experienced player, great passer, tactically educated, polyvalent and great physical form (1’83 and thick hair as well). Schweinie is a great player for the mezz’alla role, not only because of his characteristics, but also due to the fact that he has already played with Van Bommel in the midfield and the fact that he also used to played in a more lateral position before being repositioned in the center of the pitch. In my opinion, if we want the CL next year, he might be the best option, he has more experience than all the other prospects, he is a leader. The problem is that it might be really tough to bring him to Milan, not only because of his price tag but also because of his attachment to his club.

Anyways, these are most of the players on “the list”, there are a few missing but I think that the ones I mentioned are better than the ones that weren’t mentioned ( i.e. Lass or Lazzari). Some of the above are unlikely to arrive at San Siro if you ask me, but if I had to choose from this list I would go with any of these 4 since they don’t only provide technique and tactical flexibility but work-rate as well : M’vila, Asamoah, Van der Vaart or my favorite Schweinsteiger. And even though Allegri gave some hints about Mr X, I think they can be a cover.

All we can really do is wait and see what Galliani and co are going to pull out of the hat this time.

I don't post much, but read the forum everyday lol. After watching the Brazil U20 play last night against Uruguay I was totally sold on this Kid Lucas.

If after all that has been said, if Silvio is paying 30 mil. it only means that the club is spending 10 Mil. - Now with the sell of KJH for 15 Mil. that's putting back 5Mil. in the club's account. Now how is that a bad deal? On top of it the 40 Mil. is said to be paid over 3 yrs, so what's all the worries about?

It's is better to have someone like Ibra in our attack that can do damages to any opposing defense then having the like of Bori and KJH. He is proven in the Serie A so I personally expect a great season from him

Correct me if I am wrong but I don't see how this could hurt us in any way. On top of it Milan is already thinking about the future prospect of the team with all the youngsters they are buying. Our youth is pretty strong right now, so I am personally not going to panic. Last year at that same time, I was furious with our management, But they did a pretty good job this summer in my opinion.

Ibra gets 'super golden handshake'

Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will get a super golden handshake if he leaves the Catalan giants for Milan.

Sport Mediaset understand that Adriano Galliani and Ibrahmovic's agent Mino Raiola held talks with Barcelona at the King Juan Carlos hotel to discuss his transfer.

Raiola was their to discuss the legal ramifications of Ibrahimovic's exits, such as his exit bonus and image rights.

It's believed that Milan have agreed a deal in principle to sign the Swede for €40m to be paid in three installments.

When asked about the golden handshake, Raiola said: “Let's not call it that. Let's call it a super golden handshake.”

Allegri confirms Ibra chat

Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed reports he had a chat with Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic last night.

The Swede is expected to reveal this evening whether he intends to move back to Italy after Milan apparently agreed a deal to sign him for €40m.

Speaking to Sky Italia, Allegri said: “I had an informal telephone chat with Ibrahimovic.

“He said he would be happy to join us. We'll see what happens.

“I am naturally confident. He is an important player and would complete an already strong line up. He would give us a jump in class.

“The more champions the easier it is to win games. There is a need to have a 22-man squad to realise important objectives.

“We wouldn't change our style of play. We would have been the anti-Inter already without him. With Zlatan we get centimeters, technique and goals,” Allegri concluded.

It remains to be seen whether the former Interista becomes the fifth player since 1990 to cross the divide.
