QUOTE (Tennie @ Dec 15 2008, 04:18 PM) *
There's nothing BUT criticism here, that's my point. Except, of course, for the 3 brazilians. And I think there's a good deal of venom in some of what is said. With respect, you haven't been here quite as long as I have to see this, and I really do not appreciate the condescending attitude.

There's no condescending attitude at all. You'd just rather have a forum where everybody praises the club and players regardless of what is going on. There is criticism because performances have been poor. I've seen it, you've seen it, we've all seen it. It wouldn't be so bad if it was just this season, but as I have said, it is a continuation from last year.

There's no venom at all. It's frustration from poor performances that the majority of people saw coming in the summer. If you want a forum with members who aren't going to say a word against the club, or criticise any player, then you may as well ban everyone now.

As has been said Tennie, it is called realism. Defeat was predicted, defeat duly arrived.

We haven't played well since the 06-07 season, and even then we weren't particularly good. We were poor throughout last year, and it's continued into this year. When a team plays as poorly as we have for a year and a half, the fans are going to start getting annoyed.

Ronaldinho is nothing like the old player. In fact, all he brings is goals from free-kicks, which Pirlo did anyway. Other than that, unless he manages to score, he offers nothing to the team. He stops Kaká from playing.

Senderos wasn't good enough for Arsenal's first-XI, why would he be good enough for ours. Waste of a signing, and I'm thankful it was only a loan.

The Brazilians I speak to praise him to the rooftops, but it means nothing because there's no neutrality in their view.

Like you, I'm not enamoured by this signing at all, and for the very reasons you have given.

QUOTE (Fillipo Simone @ Dec 15 2008, 03:00 PM) *
I don't agree. Galliani maybe a spin-doctor and a guy always walking around the truth, but he isn't that kind of a coward. If we fail, he'll say we failed.

If Ancelotti has to go, we need to find/wait for a good alternative.

You know full well the objective will be the UEFA Cup. And you'll see as much in the line-up's Ancelotti sends out.

And I'm not saying he has to go, but he is in big danger of getting the sack.

Fishdoll would be wrong. I'd like to see Sheva, Emerson and Senderos go. None are Italian. If Ronaldinho doesn't start performing, then he can be added too.

The reason the 3 Brazilians aren't on the list is because they've shown they can perform in a Milan shirt before. No-one in their right mind would put Kaká on the list. And Pato is one of the few young players we have.

Our playing poorly isn't solely due to absentees. It is also down to nonsense tactics. Gattuso, Nesta and Kaká were the only players missing last night who would have made the first-XI. Yet we were thrashed by a side who were missing Buffon, Legrottaglie, Camoranesi, Tiago/Poulsen (one of them) who all would have made the starting line-up.

Or a player is applying to become an EU player via citizenship.

I'd like to get rid of Shevchenko, that would free up a non-EU spot.

As predicted, a defeat. We won't be winning the league this year. And unless something goes wrong with Inter and they start dropping points, our objective will change swiftly to the UEFA Cup. Mark this post for future reference, we all know it will happen.

Changes need to be made I think. Not necessarily with the coach, though having said that he is in danger of losing his job at the end of the season. Our squad isn't good enough at the moment. And the tactics used are starting to go beyond a joke.

UEFA are such dicks. Players are doing this all the time. No fine for Sissoko for doing the same against Zenit? They should be more concerned with banning Rooney for his stamp, yet he'll probably get away with it.

They have to be Italian?

If that is the criteria, then two that do spring to mind are Antonio Nocerino (unlikely, as he moved in the summer, but nevertheless he'd be willing to move to a bigger club than Palermo) and Dessena's team mate Paolo Sammarco.

Both have proved they have what it takes to play at a high level in Serie A. Sammarco's consistency in particular, is promising. He's also a former youth player of ours.

well if young players are not ready for milan while old are not likd by anyone i dont think any clubs likes to sell player at there peak age so we have to go for young players if not then not criticize whenn we get 30 plus players this is all my opanion

Young players are ready for Milan, but not this one. There are many young players around who have proved themselves in their domestic league over a period of time, and indeed at a higher level. Dessena isn't one of them yet.

all i know is dessenas current play is much better than emo's, and he was sold for 4m E to samp...

we could have easily snatched him for a similar fee and his wages arent as high as emerson's.

another instance when we could have picked up local talent and for cheap.

He's not ready for Milan yet. Needs to continue in the same vein for the rest of the season, and then do it again next season before he's even considered.

Not convinced about Thiago Silva. I'd rather have a defender who has been in that position all his career, not a converted right-winger.

Not happy with Brazilian defenders either.

No idea, but the capacity is going to be around 40,000, which is less than the delle Alpi.

Jack, my eyes are still bleeding from that Armani underwear ad on the side of a building in the Brera district I saw this August as I walked to Sweet Years to get dst his Maldini postcard. Please don't make me hurt you. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

As for Rino, the exam in Belgium will show whether or not surgery is necessary. If it is, I suspect the surgery will take place very soon, perhaps even tomorrow. Given Gattuso's frighteningly fast recovery time, the best optimistic guess for a return is sometime in the spring. Worst case? September.

Worst case would be around October, but that's only if surgery is needed, and if it's a complete tear.

Oops, sorry. In this context, Zebras = Juve. I'd still let them have Gallas.

Ah OK. I'd let them have him too. There are defenders who are just as good, but younger, available.

It's being demolished, so they won't be moving back to it. In its place, a new stadium is being built, with a smaller capacity and without the running track.

Surprising. Any reasons as to why you guys wouldn't want them to do well in the CL?

I thought it was because I'm Italian, and want Italian clubs to be successful in Europe as they're representing us. Unless any of you guys are from Italy too.

Funny? I'd say it's worrying that we're unable to develop the youth ourselves.

I'd love to see Inter win it. I'm right behind all the Italian sides in the CL. It's just embarrassing how they seem to be our best hope, and yet come 2nd in that easy group.

2nd place sides: Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Inter, Real Madrid (barring a massive ****-up from Juventus), Lyon/Bayern Munich.

Not all of them obviously, but that's a pretty tough set of teams. Could possibly (hopefully) add Arsenal to that if they lose in Portugal tomorrow night.

Compared this with the 1st teams: Roma, Liverpool, Barcelona, Man Utd (highly likely), Juventus, Bayern/Lyon.

Doesn't appear to be much of an advantage finishing 1st, other than playing the second leg at home (a debatable advantage too).
