If Kaka signs for Manchester City, it will be a disaster for all concerned and for football as a whole. Not only will it make nouveau riche sides with bored rich owners think they can just come and buy up stars as if they were browsing the Louvre for something to hang in the hallway, but it would also cut 99 per cent of clubs out of the future transfer market.
